Roles and Responsibility:

1.

Strategic

Sourcing &

- Procurement

- Plan and execute strategic sourcing for all input materials required for finished pharmaceutical manufacturing.

- Manage procurement of:

- Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs)

- Raw Materials &
- Excipients

- Packaging Materials (Primary &

- Secondary)

- Consumables &

- Engineering Goods

- Ensure timely availability of materials in line with production plans and inventory norms.

2.

Vendor

Development &

- Supply Assurance

- Identify, evaluate, qualify, and develop domestic and international suppliers.

- Maintain approved vendor lists in coordination with QA, QC, and Regulatory teams.

- Develop alternate sourcing strategies to mitigate supply risks.

- Monitor vendor performance on quality, delivery, compliance, and cost parameters

3.

Import

Procurement &

- Global Sourcing

- Handle import purchases including APIs, RM, PM, and engineering items.

- Coordinate with CHA, freight forwarders, and logistics partners.

- Ensure compliance with import regulations, customs documentation, and timelines.

- Monitor global market trends impacting pricing, availability, and lead times.

4.

Contract Manufacturing

Support

- Support procurement activities related to Contract Manufacturing Organizations (CMOs).

- Coordinate material sourcing and supply for contract manufacturing requirements.

- Exposure to CMO operations is an added advantage.

5. Negotiation &

- Cost Optimization

- Lead price negotiations, commercial terms, and long-term contracts with vendors.





- Achieve cost reduction and value engineering initiatives without compromising quality.

- Ensure procurement aligns with company margin expectations and budgeting goals.

6.

Market

Intelligence &

- Trend Analysis

- Stay updated on market trends, competitor sourcing strategies, price movements, and supplier dynamics.

- Track shortages, regulatory changes, and geopolitical impacts affecting supply.

- Maintain a robust procurement pipeline with backup suppliers.

7. Compliance &

- Corporate Standards

- Ensure procurement activities comply with:

- GMP / GDP requirements

- Corporate procurement policies

- Ethical sourcing standards

- Work closely with QA, Regulatory, Finance, and Production teams to ensure alignment.

8.

Policy

Development &

- Process Improvement

- Develop, implement, and continuously improve procurement policies, SOPs, and workflows.

- Drive process standardization, documentation, and audit readiness.

- Support internal and external audits related to procurement and vendor management.

Key Competency Required:

- Sound knowledge of Raw Materials and Packaging Materials is Mandatory.

- Honest, Hard Working.

- Growth Mindset (Important)

Knowledge Required

- 5 10years of relevant experience in Pharma.

- Solid exposure to API/RM/PM procurement in regulated pharma environments.

- Experience in import purchases is essential.

- Knowledge of GMP, vendor qualification, and pharma compliance requirements.

- Computer proficiency in MS Office, ERP and internet functions.
