Speech Therapist

Position: Speech Therapist Location: Little Gems Child Development Center, Kozhenchery, Pathanamthitta

Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary The Speech Therapist will assess and provide individualized intervention for children with speech, language, communication, feeding, and related developmental difficulties. The therapist will work closely with children, parents, and the multidisciplinary team to support functional communication and overall development.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct speech and language assessments to identify individual communication needs. Develop and implement individualized therapy goals and intervention plans.

- Provide therapy for:
- Speech and articulation difficulties
- Language delay and disorders
- Receptive and expressive language skills
- Social communication and pragmatic skills
- Early communication and functional communication
- Fluency difficulties
- Voice-related difficulties
- Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), when appropriate

Therapists with OPT , PROMPT , or AVAZ certification preferred.

- Feeding and oral-motor concerns within professional scope
- Support development of vocabulary, sentence formation, comprehension, and communication skills.
- Monitor and document children's progress regularly.
- Prepare therapy reports, progress notes, and reassessment reports.
- Provide appropriate home-based activities and communication strategies to parents.
- Conduct parent counselling and provide regular feedback regarding therapy progress.
- Collaborate with Occupational Therapists, Behaviour Therapists,



Special Educators, Psychologists, and other professionals.
- Participate in case discussions, team meetings, parent meetings, and center programmes.
- Maintain a protected, child-friendly, and supportive therapy environment.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology / Speech and Hearing.
- Valid professional registration as applicable.
- Pediatric clinical experience is preferred.
- Freshers with relevant clinical training may also apply.

Preferred Skills

- Good understanding of pediatric speech and language development.
- Knowledge of early intervention and developmental communication strategies.
- Familiarity with AAC/PECS is an advantage.
- Good communication, observation, and documentation skills.
- Patient, compassionate, and child-centered approach.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Willingness to learn and develop professionally.

- Follow the center's clinical and administrative procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality of child and family information.
- Complete documentation within the required timelines.
- Prioritize the child's safety, dignity, and developmental needs.

Little Gems Child Development Center provides multidisciplinary developmental and therapeutic support for children and families through individualized, child-centered intervention.

Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹55,000.00 per month
