We work with mental health and child-development professionals to provide personalized, evidence-informed support for children with different learning, developmental and behavioural needs.
We are looking for a Special Educator to join our growing team.
About the Role The Special Educator will work with children who experience learning difficulties, developmental challenges, academic difficulties and other educational support needs.
The role involves understanding each child's individual needs, developing appropriate educational interventions, supporting learning and collaborating with parents and other professionals involved in the child's care.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct educational and functional assessments within the scope of professional training.
- Identify children's individual learning needs and areas requiring additional support.
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) or appropriate intervention plans.
- Provide one-to-one and small-group educational interventions.
- Support children with learning difficulties, including difficulties related to reading, writing, mathematics and academic skills.
- Use appropriate teaching strategies and multisensory learning techniques.
- Monitor children's progress and maintain intervention records.
- Adapt learning materials and activities according to individual needs.
- Provide guidance to parents/caregivers regarding learning strategies and home-based support.
- Collaborate with psychologists,
therapists, counsellors and other professionals when required.
- Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions where appropriate.
- Maintain confidentiality and skilled documentation.
- Follow ethical and child-centred practices in all interactions.
Required Qualifications
- B.Ed. in Special Education from a recognised institution.
- Appropriate professional registration/certification, where applicable.
- Strong understanding of special education principles and inclusive learning.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively with children and families.
- Ability to develop individualized learning and intervention strategies.
- Robust commitment to child safety, confidentiality and professional ethics.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with children with learning difficulties or specific learning disabilities (SLD).
- Experience working with children with developmental or behavioural concerns.
- Experience in educational assessment and intervention.
- Experience developing and implementing IEPs.
- Experience working with parents and caregivers.
- Experience working in a multidisciplinary mental health or child-development setting.
- Experience providing online educational support or using digital platforms.
- Knowledge of Malayalam and English.
Experience 1–3 years of relevant experience preferred.
Freshers with strong practical training/internship experience may also be considered.
