Experience

12+ years of experience in software engineering, with strong experience in designing and architecting large-scale e-commerce applications.

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Solution Architect to define and drive the technical architecture of a large-scale e-commerce platform. The candidate will work closely with engineering, product, DevOps, QA, and business teams to design scalable, secure, highly available, and maintainable solutions. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience with Java/Spring Boot, React, microservices, APIs, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP), along with a solid understanding of contemporary e-commerce architecture.

Key Responsibilities

- Define and maintain the end-to-end architecture for e-commerce applications across frontend, backend, APIs, integrations, and cloud infrastructure.
- Design scalable and highly available solutions using Java, Spring Boot, microservices, REST APIs, and React.
- Define frontend architecture and best practices using React, TypeScript, state management, and reusable components.
- Design cloud-native solutions on GCP, considering scalability, reliability, security, performance, and cost optimization.
- Work with engineering teams to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Define architecture standards, design patterns, coding standards, and technology guidelines.
- Review technical designs, architecture decisions, and implementation approaches.
- Identify technical risks, dependencies, and potential scalability or performance issues.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to developers, leads, and engineering teams.
- Collaborate with DevOps teams on CI/CD, infrastructure, observability,



monitoring, and deployment strategies.
- Ensure solutions follow security, compliance, and enterprise architecture standards.
- Evaluate new technologies and recommend solutions that improve engineering productivity and application capabilities.
- Support troubleshooting of complex production issues and provide long-term architectural solutions.

Architecture & Leadership

- Strong understanding of domain-driven design (DDD) and microservices.
- Experience designing high-volume, low-latency distributed systems.
- Strong understanding of API design and integration patterns.
- Experience with scalability, resilience, fault tolerance, and disaster recovery.
- Ability to make architecture decisions considering performance, maintainability, security, and cost.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work with senior engineering and business stakeholders and clearly communicate complex technical concepts.
- Experience mentoring technical leads and senior engineers.

Preferred Qualifications

- 12+ years of software engineering experience with 5+ years in an Architect/Senior Architect role.
- Experience architecting large-scale e-commerce platforms.
- Strong combination of Java + React + GCP experience.
- GCP certification is a plus.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Experience working with distributed/global engineering teams.
