ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a Solution Architect to own the technical architecture of our platform end to end - frontend, backend, data and infrastructure. This is a hands-on architecture role: you define how the system is built, review implementation decisions across the whole stack, and set the engineering standards that keep the platform fast to build on and safe to scale.
Our engineering workflow uses AI extensively, so a significant part of the role is defining the rules, constraints and review gates that developers and AI coding agents must follow.
Role & responsibilities
- Own end-to-end architecture across frontend, backend, data and infrastructure.
- Translate product requirements into system design: services, data models, API contracts, integration boundaries.
- Review code, database models, APIs and infrastructure changes across the stack.
- Define architecture, security and coding standards, including review gates for AI-generated code.
- Decide what the platform needs today versus what should be introduced later; challenge unnecessary complexity.
- Own non-functional requirements: performance, scalability, reliability, observability, cost and security.
- Plan and de-risk migrations and refactors without stopping delivery.
- Lead design reviews and mentor senior developers.
Preferred candidate profile FULL-STACK ARCHITECTURE KNOWLEDGE - REQUIRED
Strong architectural understanding across the complete application stack.
Frontend: React, Next.js, TypeScript, modern frontend architecture, component architecture, frontend performance, API/data-fetching patterns, SSR, CSR and server-side application patterns.
Backend: Python, FastAPI, REST APIs, OpenAPI/Swagger contracts, asynchronous systems, PostgreSQL, Redis, queues and background processing, authentication and authorization, multi-tenancy.
Platform / Infrastructure: AWS or equivalent cloud platforms, Docker, Kubernetes,
Terraform / Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, Linux, networking, load balancing, CDN, object storage, monitoring and observability.
The architect does not need to write React or FastAPI code every day, but must be technically capable of reviewing architecture and implementation decisions across the entire stack.
STRONG ADVANTAGE
Experience with WebRTC; SIP / VoIP; FreeSWITCH; realtime communication systems; AI / LLM infrastructure; pgvector or vector databases; PostGIS; large-scale file storage; global CDN architectures; PostgreSQL replication and multi-region strategies; security architecture for SaaS platforms; event-driven systems.
AI-ASSISTED ENGINEERING The engineering workflow uses AI extensively. The architect should understand AI coding agents; AI-generated code review; automated PR review; architecture governance for AI-assisted development; how to define rules and constraints that AI coding agents must follow; and how to identify when AI-generated implementations are technically incorrect despite appearing functional. Experience with specific AI tools is useful but not mandatory.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- 10+ years of serious engineering and architecture experience (15+ preferred).
- Has designed systems that reached real production.
- Has experienced scaling issues and production failures.
- Understands the complete full-stack system, not only infrastructure.
- Remains technically hands-on and can inspect code, database models, APIs and infrastructure.
- Challenges unnecessary complexity and is comfortable challenging engineering decisions.
- Can distinguish what the platform needs today from what should be introduced later.
- Can mentor senior developers.
- Can work effectively in a fast-moving AI-assisted development environment.
The objective is to establish a technically robust foundation that allows the engineering team to move quickly without creating long-term architectural or security debt.
