About the Opportunity micro1 is seeking experienced Software Engineers with strong open-source development backgrounds to contribute to advanced software engineering and code evaluation projects.

This role is ideal for engineers who have experience contributing to open-source projects, implementing new features, resolving complex bugs, optimizing performance, and maintaining large-scale codebases.

You'll apply your expertise across multiple programming languages and software systems to develop, review, validate, and improve high-quality technical solutions while supporting cutting-edge software development initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and implement new features within existing software projects and codebases.
- Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve complex software defects and performance issues.
- Refactor legacy code to improve maintainability, scalability, and performance.
- Review code for correctness, efficiency, security, and adherence to best practices.
- Design and implement algorithmic solutions for complex technical challenges.
- Evaluate software solutions and identify opportunities for optimization and improvement.
- Contribute to technical documentation and implementation guidelines.
- Review and validate generated code and technical outputs.
- Participate in code reviews and provide detailed technical feedback.
- Create high-quality reference solutions and implementation examples.

Required Qualifications

Robust professional software engineering experience.
2. Strong understanding of algorithms, data structures, and software design principles.
3. Experience with bug fixing, feature implementation, code refactoring, and performance optimization.
4. Ability to understand and contribute to large or unfamiliar codebases.
5. Strong debugging and technical problem-solving skills.
6. Excellent written communication and technical documentation abilities.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience contributing to open-source software projects.
- Strong background in competitive programming or advanced algorithmic problem-solving.
- Experience conducting code reviews and technical evaluations.
- Familiarity with software architecture, system design, and scalability concepts.
- Experience working across multiple programming languages and technology stacks.

- Ability to work independently in a fully remote setting.
