We're looking for a skilled Software Engineer with strong expertise in SONiC (Software for Open Networking in the Cloud), Layer 2/Layer 3 networking, and network testing frameworks such as PTF and SPyTest. You'll play a central role in building, validating, and optimizing next-generation network operating systems that power data center and enterprise infrastructure designed for AI/ML workloads.

What You'll Do

- Build and enhance features for the SONiC network operating system

- Create and run comprehensive test plans using PTF and SPyTest to validate L2/L3 protocols and network infrastructure

- Identify, troubleshoot, and fix complex, large-scale networking issues on SONiC platforms

- Work closely with hardware engineering, QA, and DevOps teams to ensure smooth integration and deployment

- Take part in code reviews, architecture planning, and technical documentation

- Engage with and contribute to the broader SONiC open-source community, keeping up with its ongoing evolution





What You'll Need

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline

- At least 5 years of hands-on experience building network software

- Solid, hands-on background with the SONiC operating system

- Robust coding skills in Python, C/C++, and Go

- Practical experience using PTF (Packet Test Framework) and SPyTest for network validation

- Comfort with Linux internals, container technologies (Docker), and network virtualization

Nice to Have

- A track record of contributing to the SONiC open-source project

- Exposure to SDN controllers and programmable data plane technologies

- Understanding of network ASICs and switch hardware design

- Solid grasp of core L2/L3 protocols — VLANs, STP, BGP, OSPF, and similar
