About ZeroWatt

ZeroWatt is an energy intelligence platform for industry. We collect high-frequency data from industrial plants and turn it into insight that helps clients cut energy waste and cost.

About the internship

Duration: 3 months, full-time, starting late September 2026.

You will work on production systems from the start, own real tasks, and ship code that customers use,

with direct guidance from the engineering team. The work spans both the core product and our internal tooling.

The role is hybrid and based in Chennai.

What you will do

- Build and maintain backend services and APIs in Python (FastAPI)
- Write and optimize SQL for time-series data on PostgreSQL/TimescaleDB
- Develop data pipelines and scheduled jobs (Airflow, Kafka)
- Build dashboards and alerts for client energy data (Grafana)
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and deployments

Requirements

- Student or recent graduate in CS, IT,



EE, or a related field
- Working knowledge of Python and SQL
- At least one project built outside coursework (GitHub, hackathon, personal project)

Preferred

- Hands-on experience with AI coding assistants (Claude Code, Cursor, or similar)
- Exposure to Docker, Linux, or Git workflows
- Interest in energy, IoT, or industrial systems
