Role Overview

We are looking for a passionate and creative Social Media Manager to join our Communications team. The ideal candidate will bring a strong understanding of digital storytelling, platform strategy, and audience engagement within the non-profit and social impact space.

This role calls for someone who can balance creativity with structure, emotion with ethics, and strategy with execution , someone who understands the responsibility of representing stories of communities and causes with authenticity, sensitivity, and dignity.

Key Responsibilities

1. Social Media Strategy & Planning

● Build platform-specific strategies for Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, Facebook, and other relevant channels.

● Create and manage content calendars for consistent, timely posting across all platforms.

● Identify opportunities for campaigns, storytelling, collaborations, and audience engagement.

2. Content Development & Brand Communication

● Conceptualise and curate relevant, informative, and engaging content that upholds the ethics and dignity of the organisation.

● Lead storytelling through posts, captions, reels, videos, campaigns, and impact narratives.

● Ensure consistency in tone, visual identity, and communication style across all platforms.

● Provide creative direction for visual content, videos, and post aesthetics.

3. Team Collaboration

● Work collaboratively with the design team, internal departments, field teams, and leadership.

● Coordinate on-ground coverage, photography, videography,



and post-event communication.

● Contribute to a healthy, open, and accountable work culture.

4. Campaigns & Event Coverage

● Plan and execute communication strategies for events, campaigns, and organisational initiatives.

● Ensure timely live updates, coverage, and post-event digital communication.

● Contribute creatively to campaigns that strengthen the organisation's visibility and impact.

5. Operational Excellence

● Maintain strict adherence to timelines, communication schedules, and content quality standards.

● Adapt to multiple communication-related responsibilities as required.

● Stay up-to-date with social media trends, platform algorithm changes, and digital best practices.

Skills & Qualifications

● 2–4 years of experience in social media management, communications, or digital storytelling.

● Prior experience in an NGO, education institution, or social impact organisation will be an added advantage.

● Strong understanding of social media trends, audience engagement strategies, and platform algorithms.

● Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English.

● Solid visual sensibility and working knowledge of tools such as Canva, Adobe Photoshop, or Any similar.

● Basic understanding of video direction, reels, and digital visual storytelling.

● AI savvy, comfortable using AI tools to enhance content, research, and workflow.

● Organised, proactive, and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.

● Ethically grounded with a values-first approach to communication.
