CBSE Subject Matter Expert (SME) – Content Reviewer for all subject

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced CBSE Subject Matter Expert (SME) with strong subject knowledge and hands-on experience in academic content review, editing, validation, and quality assurance. The SME will be responsible for reviewing curriculum content, ensuring alignment with CBSE guidelines and learning outcomes, and maintaining high standards of academic accuracy and quality.

The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of the CBSE curriculum and experience in reviewing or developing textbooks, worksheets, lesson plans, assessments, question papers, digital content, teacher resources, or other educational materials.

Key Responsibilities

- Review and validate academic content for accuracy, relevance, clarity, and age appropriateness.
- Ensure content is aligned with the CBSE curriculum, prescribed learning outcomes, and grade-level competencies.
- Review textbooks, workbooks, lesson plans, worksheets, assessments, question banks, question papers, and digital learning resources.
- Identify and correct factual, conceptual, grammatical, instructional, and pedagogical errors.
- Check content for appropriate difficulty level, sequencing, terminology, and learning progression.
- Ensure consistency in concepts, terminology, examples, activities, and learning objectives across content.
- Review assessment questions for conceptual accuracy, competency-based learning, Bloom's Taxonomy, difficulty level, and CBSE alignment.
- Provide detailed and constructive feedback to content writers, editors, teachers, and curriculum developers.




- Collaborate with academic teams and content developers to improve the quality and effectiveness of learning resources.
- Verify that content promotes conceptual understanding, critical thinking, application, and competency-based learning.
- Review content against prescribed syllabi and identify gaps, repetitions, or unnecessary content.
- Participate in the development and standardisation of academic content review checklists, guidelines, and quality parameters.
- Maintain review records, feedback trackers, and content approval documentation.
- Support the Academic Team in developing and revising curriculum and instructional resources as required.
- Stay updated with CBSE curriculum changes, academic frameworks, examination patterns, competency-based education, and emerging pedagogical practices.

Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree in the relevant subject from a recognised university.
- B.Ed. or equivalent teacher-training qualification preferred/required.
- Strong understanding of the CBSE curriculum and school education framework.
- Candidates with teaching, curriculum development, textbook/content development, academic editing, or educational publishing experience will be preferred.

Experience
- 5–8 years of relevant experience in teaching, curriculum development, academic content development, content review, or educational publishing.
- Prior experience specifically in academic content review/editing is highly desirable.
- Experience working with CBSE schools, publishers, EdTech companies, curriculum teams, or academic organisations will be an advantage.

Ideal Candidate Profile The ideal candidate is an experienced educator/academic professional with strong CBSE subject expertise and proven content-review experience, who can critically evaluate educational material and ensure that it is academically accurate, pedagogically sound, curriculum-aligned, and appropriate for the intended grade level.

Pay: ₹10,824.36 - ₹41,631.77 per month
