About AMZ Prep
AMZ Prep is one of North America's largest independently owned 3PL and ecommerce fulfillment networks. We operate 50+ fulfillment centers across the US, Canada, UK, and Europe, process 10M+ units monthly, and power $3B+ in annual GMV for 5,000+ brands including Allbirds, Nestle, GNC, Huel, Eight Sleep, and Hasbro. Clutch ranked AMZ Prep the #1 Fastest Growing Company globally in 2026 and the top fulfillment company for two consecutive years. We are the first 3PL to reach 100 reviews on Clutch.
We also operate Sequence Commerce (sequencecommerce.com), an Amazon advertising and marketplace management agency.
This is not a generic digital marketing role. You will own SEO strategy and execution across two high-growth brands in the ecommerce logistics and Amazon advertising space.
What You Will Do
On-Page and Content SEO
- Plan, outline, and publish 812 SEO blog posts per month across topic clusters (pillar + supporting posts) for AMZ Prep and Sequence Commerce
- Conduct keyword research using Ahrefs Keywords Explorer, Google Search Console, and Semrush to identify high-intent, rankable topics with real volume and difficulty data
- Write detailed content briefs with primary keyword, secondary keywords, search intent, competitor gap analysis, H2/H3 structure, internal link targets, and word count guidance
- Optimize existing pages for on-page SEO: title tags, meta descriptions, header hierarchy, keyword placement, image alt text, URL slugs, and internal linking
- Run weekly content refresh audits using GSC performance data and Ahrefs Site Explorer to identify pages losing traffic, rankings, or click-through rate
- Ensure every published page has proper FAQ schema, Article schema, and structured data markup
Technical SEO
- Monitor and fix crawl errors, indexation issues, and coverage gaps using Google Search Console
- Audit site architecture, crawl depth, internal link equity distribution, and orphan pages
- Track and improve Core Web Vitals (LCP, INP, CLS) across both properties
- Identify and resolve keyword cannibalization between blog posts and service/landing pages
- Manage XML sitemaps, robots.txt, canonical tags, and redirect chains
- Write developer-ready implementation tickets for technical fixes with clear acceptance criteria
Link Building and Off-Page SEO (Major Focus Area)
- Link Exchange Program Management: Evaluate every inbound link exchange request end to end. Audit the host site for Domain Rating (DR 30+ minimum), organic traffic quality, spam score, topical relevance, and outbound link ratio before approving any placement. Reject low-quality sites on sight.
- Anchor Text Risk Assessment: Review every proposed anchor text for naturalness, keyword stuffing risk, exact-match over-optimization, and editorial fit within the host article. Ensure anchor text diversity across the entire backlink profile (branded, partial match, naked URL, generic mix).
- Link Prospect Pipeline: Build and maintain a rolling pipeline of 50+ qualified prospects per month in ecommerce, logistics, Amazon FBA, supply chain, SaaS, and DTC verticals. Source prospects via Ahrefs Content Explorer, competitor backlink gap analysis, and manual outreach research.
- Guest Post Strategy: Coordinate guest post placements on industry publications. Write or brief guest articles that deliver genuine editorial value to the host audience with one contextual, natural backlink to AMZ Prep or Sequence Commerce. No spammy bio links, no paid link farms.
- Niche Edit and Content Placement: Identify existing high-authority articles where a contextual mention of AMZ Prep adds value. Negotiate niche edits that read naturally within the existing content.
- Competitor Backlink Analysis: Run monthly competitor backlink gap reports in Ahrefs. Identify which referring domains link to competitors (ShipBob, ShipMonk, Deliverr, Jungle Scout, Helium 10) but not to AMZ Prep or Sequence Commerce. Build targeted outreach lists from the gap.
- Toxic Link Monitoring: Monitor the backlink profile for toxic, spammy, or irrelevant links via Ahrefs and Google Search Console. Flag and disavow links that pose a penalty risk.
- Referring Domain Growth Tracking: Track new referring domains, lost backlinks, DR trend, and anchor text distribution monthly. Report link velocity against monthly targets.
- Digital PR and Brand Mentions:
Identify unlinked brand mentions of AMZ Prep across the web. Convert unlinked mentions into backlinks through outreach. Pursue HARO, Connectively, and journalist query opportunities for high-authority editorial links.
- Local Citations and Directory Listings: Maintain accurate NAP (Name, Address, Phone) consistency across logistics and ecommerce directories, Clutch, G2, and industry-specific listing sites.
AI Overview and Generative Engine Optimization (AIO/GEO) (Major Focus Area) This is not a future initiative. Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT web search, Perplexity, and Microsoft Copilot already pull answers from web content and cite sources inline. AMZ Prep's SEO strategy is built to win citations in these AI-generated answers today.
- AIO Query Identification: Use Ahrefs and GSC data to identify which queries in our target keyword universe are triggering Google AI Overviews. Prioritize question-format queries (how, what, why, best, vs, comparison) with informational intent and search volume between 100 and 5,000.
- AIO Readiness Audits: Score every key page against a 7-signal AIO readiness rubric: (1) direct answer in the first 100 words, (2) structured headers matching question-intent queries, (3) FAQ/Q&A; schema present, (4) entity coverage (brand, product, location named clearly), (5) citation-worthy stats and proprietary data points, (6) comparison tables or structured lists, (7) author and E-E-A-T signals visible on page.
- Direct Answer Block Creation: Write and implement 40 to 70 word direct-answer paragraphs at the top of every key page. These blocks answer the primary query in a concise, definitive, citation-ready format that AI systems can extract and attribute.
- FAQ Block Optimization: Build FAQ sections with 5 to 7 Q&A; pairs per page. Questions phrased exactly as users type them. Answers between 40 and 80 words, factual, specific, with at least one named entity or stat per answer. Implement FAQPage JSON-LD schema for every FAQ block.
- Comparison Table Strategy: Create structured comparison tables (AMZ Prep vs ShipBob, AMZ Prep vs Amazon AWD, FBA Prep vs 3PL, etc.) formatted for AI extraction. Minimum 3 comparison points, maximum 8, with a "Bottom Line" summary row.
- Definition Block Implementation: Add "What is [term]?" sections using H2 question-format headers for every key industry term AMZ Prep should own in AI answers (FBA prep, Middle Mile, placement fees, 3PL fulfillment, etc.). Each definition block between 60 and 100 words with one proprietary data point.
- Entity and E-E-A-T Coverage: Ensure brand entity (AMZ Prep), founder entity (Blair Forrest), and key personnel entities are consistently named, linked, and defined across the site. Maintain author bylines with credentials on every blog post. Include datePublished and dateModified in Article schema.
- SERP Format Analysis: For top AIO target queries, analyze what content format Google's AI Overview is pulling from (lists, tables, definitions, step-by-step, Q&A;). Match or exceed that format on our pages.
- Multi-Platform AI Visibility: Optimize content not just for Google AI Overviews but for citation in ChatGPT web search results, Perplexity answers, and Microsoft Copilot. This means prioritizing factual density, named sources, and structured formatting that all AI systems favor.
- AIO Performance Tracking: Monitor which AMZ Prep pages are being cited in AI Overviews. Track citation gains and losses weekly. Identify competitor pages winning AI citations on queries AMZ Prep should own and build remediation plans.
