Role & responsibilities

- Support the Lead Cell Safety in implementing the Cell Manufacturing Safety Strategy across the assigned manufacturing area.

- Drive implementation of Process Safety Management activities including HAZOP recommendations, Bow-Tie barriers, Task Risk Assessments, PSSR, MOC and Critical Control Management.

- Lead Machine Safety Risk Assessments in accordance with ISO 12100 and ISO 13849 and ensure implementation of safety functions, guarding, interlocks, emergency stops, functional safety validation and equipment buy-off (FAT/SAT).

- Implement controls for battery-specific risks associated with powders, NMP, electrolyte, dry rooms, static electricity, lasers, X-ray systems, formation, high-voltage systems, thermal events, damaged cells and fire protection.

- Support secure design, commissioning, start-up and routine operations through close coordination with Production, Engineering, Projects, Maintenance and Quality.

- Develop, implement and maintain plant safety procedures, engineering standards, work instructions and management systems aligned with RIL standards, statutory requirements and international standards.





- Promote a positive safety culture through visible field leadership, safety observations, employee engagement, contractor safety management, coaching and Stop Work Authority.

- Conduct safety inspections, audits, legal compliance reviews, critical barrier verification and monitor safety KPIs to ensure timely closure of corrective actions.

- Lead incident reporting, classification, investigation, root cause analysis and implementation of corrective and preventive actions while sharing operational learning across the plant.

- Mentor executives and frontline teams to build competency and continuously improve Cell Manufacturing Safety performance.

Preferred candidate profile

- B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical/Electrical/Chemical engineering, Plus M.E / MTech / MBA in Industrial Safety or Diploma in Industrial Safety preferred.

- Experience : 7-12 years

- Proficient in International / National Best practice Safety Standards

- Functional Machine Safety Expert

- ISO 14001 / 45001

- ISO / IS standards related to safety

- Local legal regulations.
