We are a startup building a B2B finance platform that helps businesses access financing and manage financial workflows. Join our core engineering team and work closely with technology and product leadership to build and operate the platform.

The role

You will build automated tests and tools that verify the correctness of financial workflows. You will work with engineers from design onwards and own the regression suite and evidence used to assess releases.

What you will do

Test Automation

- Build and maintain API, integration, database and browser automation for business and transaction workflows.
- Develop reusable automation frameworks, utilities and test components.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and establish reliable regression execution.
- Maintain test suites for critical business workflows and prevent regression across releases.

Financial & Transaction Testing
- Validate ledger balances, financial calculations, transaction states and state transitions.
- Test authentication, authorisation and role-based access controls.
- Validate transaction lifecycle, including successful, rejected, cancelled and failed scenarios.
- Test idempotency, retries, duplicate requests and concurrent transactions.
- Validate that financial transactions maintain data consistency across services and database operations.
- Verify audit trails and transaction history for critical business actions.

Failure & Integration Testing
- Create repeatable test data and controlled test environments.
- Simulate delayed, duplicate, rejected, partially successful and failed partner/API responses.
- Test timeout, retry and recovery behaviour for external integrations.
- Validate asynchronous workflows and eventual-consistency scenarios.




- Test reconciliation and exception scenarios where applicable.

Quality Engineering
- Work with developers and Product/Business teams to convert business rules into comprehensive test scenarios.
- Participate in design and requirement reviews and identify testability and quality risks early.
- Investigate automation failures and distinguish application defects from test/environment issues.
- Track defects, perform appropriate root-cause analysis and verify fixes.
- Maintain release test reports, automation results and quality evidence.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of test coverage, execution time and reliability.

What you bring
- 5–8 years of experience in SDET, Test Automation or Software Quality Engineering.
- Valuable programming and scripting skills in Java, Python, or another suitable language, with the ability to build and maintain automated test frameworks.
- Practical experience with SQL and relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL.
- Experience designing and maintaining API and integration automation frameworks.
- Strong understanding of automated testing principles, test design and maintainable automation.
- Experience testing:
- REST APIs
- Database transactions
- Asynchronous workflows
- Multi-step business workflows
- Failure and recovery scenarios
- Experience with browser automation and end-to-end testing like Selenium.
- Experience integrating automated tests with CI/CD pipelines.




- Ability to debug issues across frontend, backend, API and database layers.
- Ability to understand business rules and translate them into meaningful test scenarios.
- Basic security testing must to have.
- Strong defect reporting and communication skills.

Good to Have
- Experience testing FinTech, Banking, Payments, Lending, Accounting or other financial systems.
- Experience with Playwright, Selenium, REST Assured or equivalent tools.
- Experience with performance/load testing.
- Experience testing distributed systems or event-driven architectures.
- Experience with Docker/Kubernetes-based test environments.
- Experience validating financial reconciliation and exception management.
- Familiarity with AWS/cloud environments.
- Experience with security testing inline to OWASP, VAPT and API penetration.

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for a hands-on SDET, not a manual QA engineer who primarily writes UI scripts.

You should be comfortable testing a financial transaction from API → service → database → ledger → external integration → reconciliation, and be able to determine whether the system has produced the correct business and financial outcome.
