Key responsibilities:

- Own 3D parametric CAD, detailed drawings, stack-ups, GD&T;, tolerances and release configuration.
- Engineer hinge axes, stops, bearing and retention features, opening torque, flat-table stability and pinch protection.
- Design the dynamic flex or FPC path with bend-radius, strain-relief, wear and service constraints.
- Package displays, digitiser, batteries, PCB, antennas, ports, stylus retention and replaceable units.
- Lead materials and process selection for plastics, metals, adhesives, surface films and fasteners.
- Work with industrial designers while retaining mechanical feasibility and serviceability.
- Run or supervise tolerance, structural, thermal, drop, fatigue and mould-flow studies.
- Lead DFM and DFA reviews with prototype and tooling vendors.
- Support physical mock-ups, ergonomic trials, EVT builds and mechanical failure analysis.

Required qualifications:

- B.E. or B.Tech in Mechanical, Production, Mechatronics or Product Design Engineering.




- Eight or more years in detailed mechanical product development.
- Expert use of Creo, SolidWorks or Siemens NX, including assemblies and production drawings.
- Robust GD&T;, tolerance-stack and injection-moulded-part design experience.
- Evidence of at least one portable electronic product taken into tooling and production.

Strongly preferred:

- Hinges, moving cables, FPCs, foldables, laptops, tablets, handheld medical devices or wearables.
- Drop, impact, fatigue, ingress and environmental qualification.
- Serviceable product architecture and replaceable display or battery design.
- Direct tooling-vendor work in Chennai, Sriperumbudur or the wider Tamil Nadu manufacturing cluster.
