Experience: 58 Years
Employment Type: Full-Time
Industry: Power Electronics / Renewable Energy / BESS / Solar Inverters
Job Summary
We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Hardware / Power Electronics Design Engineer to lead component-level hardware design and development for 50kW Hybrid Inverters and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).
The role involves power converter design, schematic development, power semiconductor selection, gate driver design, magnetic components, sensing circuits, PCB design, EMI/EMC, prototype development and high-power testing.
The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience developing and commercializing high-power power electronics products such as Solar Inverters, Hybrid Inverters, BESS, EV Chargers, Motor Drives or UPS systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and optimize bidirectional power conversion topologies for Hybrid Inverters and BESS.
- Work on Buck-Boost DC-DC, MPPT, DC-AC inverter bridges, PFC, rectification and switching circuits.
- Design three-phase DC-AC inverter power stages for high-power applications.
- Select and evaluate SiC MOSFETs, IGBTs and other power semiconductors based on switching losses, efficiency, thermal performance and SOA.
- Design isolated gate driver circuits with short-circuit protection, desaturation detection, Miller clamp and optimized switching.
- Design high-frequency inductors, common-mode chokes and LCL filters.
- Develop precision sensing circuits for voltage, current and temperature measurement using Hall sensors, isolated amplifiers and delta-sigma modulators.
- Develop and analyze control strategies for DC-DC converters, including voltage-mode, current-mode and digital control.
- Perform converter stability analysis and simulation using analytical methods and simulation tools.
- Design auxiliary SMPS power supplies for 24V, 15V, 5V and 3.3V DC rails.
- Develop complete electrical schematics using Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro,
Mentor Graphics or equivalent ECAD tools.
- Provide PCB layout guidance for high-voltage/high-current designs, including creepage, clearance, current density, parasitic inductance and EMI/EMC considerations.
- Lead prototype bring-up, debugging and validation in a high-power laboratory environment.
- Use oscilloscopes, power analyzers, electronic loads and other laboratory equipment for hardware validation.
- Design hardware protection circuits for OVP, OCP, reverse polarity, surge protection, SPD and fuse coordination.
- Collaborate with mechanical and thermal teams for heatsink, forced-air and liquid-cooling solutions.
- Support DFMEA, component derating, design reviews and product qualification.
- Work closely with firmware, control, mechanical and system engineering teams for complete product development.
