Role Purpose
We are seeking a multilingual recruitment and staffing professional with experience in recruiting blue-collar manpower for municipal solid waste management and mining operations, along with the ability to recruit white-collar professionals for the waste management industry.
Our recruitment requirements depend on ongoing projects, bidding opportunities and new contract awards. This role combines recruitment with manpower planning, field staffing support, employee coordination and recruitment readiness during periods of limited hiring.
Blue Collar Recruitment and Mobilisation
· Recruit sanitation workers, waste collection workers, segregation workers, helpers, drivers, equipment operators, mechanics, electricians, welders and other project manpower.
· Source workers for mining operations, including relevant equipment operators, maintenance personnel, drivers and site support staff.
· Manage sourcing, screening, interview coordination, document collection, joining and deployment.
· Coordinate with project teams to verify driving licences, trade skills, operating experience and other role-specific requirements.
· Arrange recruitment drives and coordinate worker travel, reporting locations and accommodation requirements with authorised project teams.
· Maintain backup candidates for urgent replacements, absenteeism and project mobilisation.
Recruitment and Staffing Responsibilities Interstate Recruitment Networks
· Possess and maintain an active network of recruitment agents, manpower suppliers, local coordinators, employee referrals, ITIs and skill-training institutions across different states.
· Develop sourcing channels for both local and interstate manpower.
· Assess recruitment partners based on candidate quality, joining reliability, retention and agreed recruitment costs.
· Maintain a source database recording locations served, categories available, contact details and recruitment performance.
· Communicate wages, duties, shifts, location and facilities accurately to candidates; escalate misleading promises or unauthorised recruitment charges.
White Collar Recruitment
· Recruit Project Managers, engineers, plant and maintenance personnel, supervisors, safety officers, HR executives, accounts staff,
procurement personnel, MIS executives and tendering staff for waste management projects.
· Prepare job descriptions with department heads, screen candidates and coordinate technical interviews.
· Handle compensation discussions within approved budgets and follow through on offers, notice periods and joining.
· Build candidate pipelines for anticipated project requirements.
Field Staffing and Project HR Coordination
· Act as the staffing coordination contact between the corporate office, Field Managers and Project Company HR Managers.
· Obtain manpower requirements and track sanctioned strength, deployment, vacancies, absenteeism and replacement needs.
· Provide regular staffing updates to Field Managers and management.
· Liaise with Project HR Managers on joining formalities, attendance discrepancies, transfers, accommodation issues, employee concerns and exits.
· Coordinate timely replacements and support retention of newly recruited workers.
· Escalate staffing shortages and unresolved employee issues that may affect project operations.
Project and Bid Stage Support
· Support management with manpower availability, indicative recruitment lead times and sourcing inputs for proposed projects and bids.
· Prepare recruitment and mobilisation plans based on approved project staffing requirements.
· Maintain a ready pool of suitable candidates and recruitment partners for new project awards.
· Communicate clearly when an opportunity is conditional on a contract award; issue commitments only after internal approval.
Candidate Requirements and PerformanceResponsibilities During Low Hiring Periods
· Update candidate databases, recruitment partner records and employee skill inventories.
· Follow up with deployed employees and project teams on retention, staffing gaps and pending onboarding documents.
· Coordinate redeployment opportunities between projects.
· Support HR documentation, induction scheduling, training coordination and staffing-related administrative work.
· Prepare recruitment and manpower reports, and maintain readiness for upcoming projects.
Language Requirements
· Hindi,
Tamil, Telugu, English and Kannada: Working conversational proficiency required to communicate with candidates, recruitment agents and project teams.
· Ability to explain job conditions, wages, shifts, deployment locations and joining requirements clearly in the above languages.
· Ability to prepare professional emails, recruitment trackers and reports in English. Reading and writing ability in regional languages will be an added advantage.
Education and Experience
· Graduate in any discipline; MBA / MSW / postgraduate qualification in Human Resources preferred.
· Preferably 4–7 years of relevant experience in recruitment, manpower mobilisation or project staffing.
· Hands-on blue-collar recruitment experience in municipal waste management and mining operations.
· Demonstrated ability to recruit white-collar personnel for waste management or related project operations.
· Proven interstate sourcing network and experience coordinating with recruitment agents and project HR teams. Candidates with strong practical experience and established sourcing networks may be considered with equivalent qualifications.
Essential Skills
Multilingual communication and negotiation; recruitment planning, screening and joining follow-up; relationship management with agents and project teams; ability to handle urgent requirements and changing priorities; proficiency in Excel, email, recruitment portals, candidate databases and MIS reporting; willingness to travel; and ability to work independently across recruitment, staffing coordination and related HR support duties.
Performance Measures
Timely fulfilment of approved manpower requirements; candidate joining rates and retention at 30, 60 and 90 days; replacement speed and quality; recruitment cost within approved budgets; sourcing partner reliability; accurate staffing reports and onboarding records; responsiveness to field and HR teams; and candidate pipeline readiness.
Performance will be assessed against actual project requirements and staffing support delivered, recognising that recruitment volumes vary with project awards.
Compensation: Based on relevant experience, language proficiency, industry exposure and demonstrated recruitment network.
