Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical / Mechatronics Engineering
Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Senior Design Engineer to join our R&D; team. The role involves concept development, 3D modelling, 2D drafting, engineering calculations, prototype development, design validation and recent product development.
The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in SolidWorks, GD&T;, engineering drawings, plastic components, injection moulding and tooling, along with an understanding of product development and DFM principles.
Key Responsibilities
- Review customer requirements received through RFQs and identify product-specific requirements.
- Develop design concepts for RFQs and participate in concept review discussions with the R&D; Head / CTO.
- Prepare 3D models and 2D engineering drawings and ensure timely release as per project schedules.
- Ensure design activities are completed in line with customer timelines and project delivery requirements.
- Prepare Engineering BOMs (EBOM) for concept designs.
- Develop assembly workflows for sub-assemblies and complete assemblies.
- Perform engineering calculations including stack-up calculations, CAE and GD&T; as applicable.
- Assemble prototype samples and conduct basic product functionality testing.
- Improve designs based on prototype testing and prepare technical reports for review and approval.
- Participate in technical discussions with customers.
- Coordinate with the tooling team and complete DFM sign-off before design release.
- Maintain and periodically update design documentation, including customer requirements, DFMEA and engineering change management records.
- Apply problem-solving techniques and identify opportunities for design and cost optimization.
- Apply reverse-engineering principles and methodologies where required.
- Support New Product Development (NPD) activities and follow established development processes.
Required Skills & Technical Knowledge
- Strong knowledge of engineering drawing reading and interpretation
- Good understanding of GD&T;
- Hands-on experience in 3D Modelling & 2D Drafting using SolidWorks
- Knowledge of tool design
- Knowledge of injection moulding
- Understanding of plastic raw materials
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as:
- Moulding

- Knowledge of IATF procedures

Education Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering / Mechatronics Engineering
Experience
Relevant experience in mechanical product design and development is preferred.
