Role Purpose:

We are seeking an experienced SAP S4Hana Data Migration Senior Consultant with a robust background in the retail industry to support the SAP S/4HANA store rollout for the MAF Retail operating company. The consultant will play a critical role in designing, building and executing the migration of master and transactional data into S/4HANA for each store wave, with a focus on data quality, reconciliation, and cutover readiness.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in SAP Migration Cockpit and SAP Data Services (BODS), retail master data objects such as article, site, vendor and customer, and the data dependencies between retail business streams and SAP systems.

Role Details – Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

Functional Specification Review:

- Collaborate with retail business stakeholders and stream leads to define migration scope, data ownership and acceptance criteria for each store wave.
- Review and validate mapping and transformation specifications for each migration object, ensuring alignment with retail data standards and SAP load requirements.
- Provide recommendations for data cleansing, deduplication and enrichment, especially for article hierarchies, site master, pricing conditions and open items.

Migration Build and Execution:

- Build and maintain extraction, transformation and load routines using SAP Migration Cockpit, LSMW or SAP Data Services for retail objects across MM, SD, FI and IS-Retail.
- Manage end-to-end data flow from legacy source systems through staging and validation into S/4HANA, including delta and repeat loads.
- Execute mock loads, reconcile record counts and values against source,



and secure business sign-off ahead of each cutover.

Data Quality and Governance:

- Define data quality rules, validation reports and defect tracking for retail master data, ensuring completeness and accuracy before every load.
- Design repeatable, automated load procedures capable of handling high-volume retail article and inventory data.
- Coordinate with data owners and governance forums to maintain migration templates, mapping rules and audit evidence.

Project Management Support:

- Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for data migration throughout the rollout lifecycle, from design through store go-live and hypercare.
- Identify risks and propose mitigation strategies for migration-specific challenges, such as legacy data gaps, load run times and cutover windows.
- Ensure alignment of rollout milestones related to data readiness, mock load cycles and cutover.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

- Act as the primary contact for data migration topics in the retail stream, collaborating with functional leads, legacy system owners, SAP consultants, and external partners.
- Conduct workshops and data validation sessions for business data owners to drive ownership of data quality.

Education:





- Bachelor’s/master’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Management, or a related field.

Experience:

- Minimum 8+ years of experience in SAP data migration with at least 2 full-cycle SAP S/4HANA implementations or rollouts.
- Proven expertise in retail master data objects, including article and article hierarchy, site master, vendor and customer master and multi-location inventory and open item balances.
- Strong background in the full migration lifecycle: extraction, mapping, transformation, load, reconciliation, and defect resolution.
- Hands-on experience in SAP S/4HANA store rollout and multi-site deployment projects.

Technical Skills:

- Hands-on skills in SAP S/4HANA Migration Cockpit, LTMC/LTMOM, SAP Data Services (BODS), and SQL for data profiling.
- Experience with retail-specific SAP modules (e.g., SAP CAR, IS-Retail, EWM).
- Proficiency in mapping documentation, reconciliation reporting and defect management tooling.
- Familiarity with SAP Master Data Governance and S/4HANA retail data models.

Soft Skills:

- Strong communication skills for engaging with cross-functional teams and business data owners.
- Analytical mindset to identify gaps and propose tailored solutions.
- Ability to manage high-pressure cutover windows with fixed store opening deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

- SAP S/4HANA Data Migration or SAP Data Services Certification.
- Experience with large-scale retail SAP projects involving multi-location, multi-country and multi-currency operations.
- Familiarity with Agile or hybrid project methodologies.
