Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Sector Head – Investments with a strong background in Investment Banking, Private Equity, Corporate Finance, or related investment functions. The role will be responsible for identifying and evaluating investment opportunities within assigned sectors, developing investment theses, conducting financial and commercial due diligence, structuring transactions, and managing the investment lifecycle.

The candidate will work closely with senior management and business stakeholders to identify attractive investment opportunities and drive transactions from origination to execution.

Key Responsibilities

- Investment Origination

- Identify and originate investment opportunities across assigned sectors.
- Build and maintain relationships with promoters, entrepreneurs, investment bankers, advisors, and other industry stakeholders.
- Develop a strong pipeline of potential investment opportunities.
- Identify emerging sectors, businesses, and themes with strong investment potential.

- Investment Evaluation & Analysis

- Conduct detailed financial and business analysis of prospective investment opportunities.
- Analyze financial statements, business models, cash flows, profitability, leverage, and growth potential.
- Develop financial models, projections, valuation models, and investment cases.
- Evaluate market size, competitive landscape, industry trends, and key business risks.
- Develop detailed investment theses and recommendations for senior management.

- Due Diligence





- Lead or coordinate financial, commercial, legal, and business due diligence.
- Review company performance, management quality, business strategy, and key risks.
- Identify potential risks and recommend appropriate mitigants.
- Coordinate with external advisors, consultants, auditors, legal teams, and other stakeholders.

- Deal Structuring & Execution

- Evaluate and recommend appropriate investment structures and transaction terms.
- Lead transaction execution from initial evaluation through negotiations and closure.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders throughout the transaction lifecycle.
- Support negotiation of valuation, commercial terms, and transaction documentation.

- Portfolio Management

- Monitor performance of invested businesses and companies.
- Track financial, operational, and strategic performance against investment assumptions.
- Identify opportunities for value creation and growth.
- Provide regular portfolio updates and performance analysis to senior management.
- Support follow-on investments, exits, restructuring, or other strategic decisions where required.

- Sector Strategy & Leadership

- Develop sector-specific investment strategies and identify priority areas for investment.
- Track industry trends, regulatory developments, market opportunities, and competitive dynamics.




- Build sector intelligence and maintain relevant market databases.
- Mentor and guide the investment team and support development of investment processes.
- Present investment opportunities and recommendations to senior management/investment committees.

Ideal Candidate

- 8–15 years of relevant experience, preferably in Investment Banking, Private Equity, Venture Capital, Corporate Finance, or Strategic Investments.
- Strong experience in investment evaluation, financial modelling, valuation, and transaction execution.
- Proven experience in sourcing and closing investment/deal opportunities.
- Strong understanding of financial statements and business fundamentals.
- Excellent financial analysis and commercial assessment skills.
- Strong network among promoters, investment bankers, advisors, and industry stakeholders.
- Experience in leading transactions and managing multiple stakeholders.
- Strong negotiation, communication, presentation, and leadership skills.
- CA / CFA / MBA (Finance) or equivalent qualification preferred.

Not Suitable

- Pure sales/business development profiles without investment experience.
- Candidates without Investment Banking, PE, VC, or relevant transaction experience.
- Candidates without strong financial modelling and valuation experience.
- Candidates with only retail lending/loan sales experience.
