Position Incharge - Tire Testing

Reports to Section Head - New Product Industrialization

Purpose Execute Tire Testing activities on time

Role(S)

Role - 1 Ensure Safety

Role - 2 Execute testing of tires for various purpose

Role - 3 Execute testing of Tires for various Internal Customers [PDC (Product Development Centre), PDM(Product Data management) & R&D; requirement tires]

Role - 4 Execute Certification activities in tire test centre (ECE, DOT, BIS, NABL, IMS, PPQ)

Role - 5 Carry out activities related to Industrialization of New Machines

Role - 6 Continous improvement in tire test centre

Role Indicative Activities

Ensure Safety Conduct Safety Shelf Audit in Tire testing

Conduct Safety training to operators

Report Near Miss and initiate corrective action

Identify Unsafe condition and initiate corrective action in tire testing

Execute testing of tires for various purpose Regular & Process / Product Improvement in Tire Testing

Update Test tracking sheet

Classification of tires, identification and inventory updation of the same

Track regular tires and arrange for testing (dimension)

Analysis of more than 50 kgs bias and Radial scrap tire

New Product Industrialization (NPI) Tire Testing

Conduct Manufacturing Tooling Feasibility Study and confirm availability of Tubes and Rims

Review status of EPR and Testing of NPI tires with team members

Validate NPI tire dimension

Update NPI tires spec in test files

Conduct NPI pneumatic and Solid tire cut section analysis

Validate angle book analysis of NPI tires

Prepare NPI Tire and section image

Review adherence of NPI solid tire mounting trial

Review adherence of NPI Pneumatic Tire & Solid Tire EPR preparation with team members





Update EPR review sheet and mail to PDC team

Bench Marking (BM) Tire Testing

Check BM tire appearance and engraving

Validate 3D scanning of BM tire

Validate BM tire dimension

Prepare Plan and review status of BM tire testing with team members

Prepare BM tire report and update BM tire tracker

Review BM tire with PDC team

Test Report Preparation & Verification

Verification of status of Daily review and Daily activity report

Verification of Endurance test status updation

Update Dimension,Rolling Circumference (RC) specification in Master sheet entry and verify the respective test reports

Verification of Defleciton data entry and graph updation

Prepare monthly test summary report and review with team members

Verification of Endurance test report, R & D Scrap Report and R &D; Scrap posting in SAP

Execute testing of Tires for various Internal Customers [PDC (Product Development Centre), PDM(Product Data management) & R&D; requirement tires] PDC : Obtain request from PDC and carry out test as per their requirement

Update PDC tracker and review with team members

Prepare PDC test report

PDM : Obtain request from PDM and carry out test as per their requirement

Update PDM tracker and review with team members

Prepare PDM test report

R & D: Obtain request from R & D and carry out test as per their requirement

Update R & D tracker and review with team members

Prepare R & D test report





Execute Certification activities in tire test centre (ECE, DOT, BIS, NABL, IMS, PPQ) Discuss BIS, ECE, DOT sizes testing status with team memebers

Update BIS, ECE, DOT testing tires sampling plan

International Standard verification and implement changes according to their amendments

Verify BIS, ECE, DOT sizes testing report

Prepare for BIS,ECE,PPQ Audits

Conduct Internal PPQ (Product Process Quality) Audit

Prepare for IMS and NABL (Internal and External Audit)

Review & Update IMS and NABL documents

Carry out activities related to Industrialization of New Machines Create and followup of capex PR for current machines

Arrange new machine installation and commisioning

Prepare final specification of new machine for procurement

Prepare capex documents for new machine approval

Continous improvement in tire test centre Improve Utilization of Tire Testing Equipments

Monitor Inventory of critical items

Follow up on status of calibration & Preventive Maintenance for Machines

Manage Spares and tools by reviewing team members

Monitor Breakdown and followup with maintenance team

Find abnormality through Gemba walk in tire test centre area

5S checksheet updation

Review 5S activities with team members

Carry out 5S activities in tire test centre

Prepare for 5S Internal and External Audit

Implement Kaizen

Implement Poka-Yoke to reduce Tire Scrap

Conduct meeting with QCC team members and prepare project report for them

Review status of JH activites in Tire testing machines with team members

Prepare for TPM Audit & execute tire testing machines

Training for workers and testing supervisors

Identify gap in Skill Matrix & Training Need for workers
