About the Role

We are looking for a versatile, experienced SAP IBP professional who can operate across the planning and execution layers of the supply chain — from demand and supply planning in IBP through to procurement processes in MM and custom ABAP logic embedded in a bespoke truckload-building solution. This is not a narrow, single-module role: the ideal candidate combines strong IBP Response & Supply (RNS) and Demand Planning capability with the technical depth to work inside customized, non-standard configurations, and enough MM/Procurement grounding to bridge planning outcomes with execution reality.

You will work directly with business stakeholders, functional teams, and technical developers to design, configure, troubleshoot, and continuously improve an integrated IBP-led supply chain planning landscape.

Key Responsibilities

1. IBP Response & Supply (RNS)

- Configure and support IBP Response & Supply scenarios, including supply propagation, allocation, order-based planning, and constrained/unconstrained heuristics.
- Set up and tune optimizer and heuristic-based planning runs; interpret and resolve planning exceptions.
- Translate business supply constraints (capacity, lead time, sourcing rules) into IBP RNS master data and planning logic.

2. Inventory & Network Optimization

- Design and maintain inventory optimization models (safety stock, target stock, service-level-driven policies) within IBP.
- Support network design/optimization studies — sourcing, distribution, and node-level trade-offs — feeding into IBP planning parameters.
- Analyze planning outputs to recommend inventory policy and network configuration improvements.

3. IBP Demand Planning

- Configure statistical forecasting models, demand sensing,



and consensus demand planning processes in IBP.
- Manage forecast hierarchies, disaggregation logic, and exception-based demand review cycles.
- Partner with business planners to improve forecast accuracy and planning cycle governance.

4. ABAP Development — Customized Truckload Builder

- Work inside an existing, heavily customized truckload-building solution (not standard/vanilla SAP configuration) — read, debug, and extend custom ABAP code.
- Develop and maintain custom logic for load-building rules, constraints, and optimization tie-ins specific to this bespoke solution.
- Collaborate with functional consultants to translate planning and logistics requirements into reliable custom code changes, with proper testing and documentation.

5. MM/Procurement

- Apply strong functional knowledge of SAP MM — procurement processes, purchase order/contract management, source determination, and vendor evaluation.
- Ensure planning outputs (from IBP) are correctly reflected in downstream procurement processes and vice versa.
- Support integration touchpoints between IBP and MM/procurement execution systems.

Required Skills & Experience

- 7–8 years of total SAP experience, with substantial hands-on time in SAP IBP (Response & Supply and Demand Planning modules).
- Proven experience in inventory optimization and/or network optimization within a planning context.
- Working ABAP development skills — able to read, debug, and modify custom code, not just configure standard settings.
- Demonstrated experience working with customized/non-standard SAP configurations (comfortable operating outside vanilla, out-of-the-box setups).




- Solid functional understanding of SAP MM and procurement processes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; able to work across functional and technical boundaries.
- Clear communication skills in English, with the ability to work independently in a remote, distributed team setup.

Good to Have

- Experience with SAP IBP integration to S/4HANA or ECC (CIF, embedded IBP add-on, or equivalent).
- Exposure to transportation planning or truckload/load-building logic beyond the specific customization described above.
- SAP IBP certification(s) in Demand or Supply/Response modules.
- Prior experience in a consulting or systems-integrator environment, working directly with client stakeholders.
