Qualification: Diploma/Degree in Industrial Safety / Safety Engineering / Mechanical Engineering with relevant Safety qualification

Job Purpose To ensure a safe working environment across the forging plant by implementing safety systems, identifying workplace hazards, ensuring statutory compliance, conducting training, and preventing accidents and unsafe practices.

Key Responsibilities

- Implement and monitor EHS policies, procedures and safety standards across the plant.
- Conduct regular Safety Inspections, Safety Audits and Risk Assessments.
- Identify hazards related to forging presses, hammers, furnaces, cranes, material handling, welding, grinding and other machinery.
- Ensure compliance with applicable Factories Act, Rules and other statutory safety requirements.
- Monitor PPE compliance and ensure proper use of helmets, safety shoes, gloves, goggles, ear protection, etc.
- Conduct Tool Box Talks, Safety Induction and regular safety training for workers and staff.
- Investigate accidents, near misses and unsafe conditions and prepare Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Corrective/Preventive Actions (CAPA).
- Ensure implementation of Permit to Work (PTW) systems for hot work, work at height, confined space, electrical work, maintenance, etc.
- Monitor fire safety systems, emergency preparedness, fire drills and evacuation procedures.
- Ensure safe working practices during machine maintenance, lifting operations and material handling.




- Maintain safety records, inspection reports, training records, accident reports and statutory documents.
- Coordinate with Production, Maintenance, HR & Administration and other departments for safety improvement.
- Monitor contractor safety and ensure compliance with plant safety requirements.
- Support implementation of 5S, Kaizen and continuous safety improvement initiatives.
- Promote a strong Safety Culture and reduce unsafe acts and unsafe conditions.

Required Skills

- Positive knowledge of Industrial Safety & EHS practices.
- Knowledge of forging plant hazards and machine safety.
- Knowledge of Fire Safety, PPE, Risk Assessment and Emergency Response.
- Good communication and training skills.
- Ability to prepare safety reports and documentation.
- Knowledge of MS Office / Excel / Word.
- Strong observation, coordination and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Experience Experience in forging, automobile components, sheet metal, heavy engineering or other manufacturing industries will be preferred.
