Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Ticketing/GDS Specialist with strong expertise in SABRE GDS and airline ticketing operations. The role involves independently handling ticket issuance, exchanges, reissues, refunds, complex itineraries, and fare-related matters, while also supporting supplier administration and coordinating with travel agents, airlines, and internal teams.
The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, a high level of accuracy, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced travel environment. The candidate should demonstrate sound judgment, professionalism, confidentiality, and ownership of ticketing-related responsibilities, with a strong focus on delivering timely and accurate support to agents
Key Responsibilities
- Issue new air tickets accurately and efficiently using SABRE GDS, in accordance with airline contracts and company policies.
- Process ticket exchanges, reissues, refunds, and other post-ticketing transactions through SABRE.
- Handle complex SABRE ticketing transactions, including fare rules, taxes, waivers, and applicable ticketing procedures.
- Manage and support various types of bookings, including corporate and complex itineraries.
- Review and monitor the email inbox, ensuring relevant communications are identified and forwarded to the appropriate agents or teams for timely action.
- Review and action ticketing-related requests and updates received from travel agents through the CRM system.
- Provide support with supplier administration, including resetting supplier passwords and PINs for agents when required.
- Liaise professionally with airlines, suppliers, and agents, via phone ,support system and email to resolve queries and facilitate timely resolutions.
- Investigate and resolve ticketing and GDS-related issues, escalating complex matters when necessary.
- Ensure strict confidentiality and appropriate handling of sensitive agent, customer, supplier, and organizational information.
- Maintain a high standard of accuracy, compliance, and service quality across all ticketing and administrative activities.
- Support process improvements and contribute to the efficient operation of the Ticketing & GDS function.
- Perform other ticketing, GDS, supplier administration, and operational duties as required to support business needs.
- Willingness and ability to work night shifts, including rotational shifts as required by business operations
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in any discipline; preferred a degree in Business Administration, Travel & Tourism, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in airline ticketing, with strong expertise in ticket issuance, reissues, exchanges, refunds, and fare rules.
- Advanced knowledge of GDS systems, particularly SABRE, with the ability to independently manage complex ticketing transactions and resolve GDS-related issues.
- Strong understanding of airline fare rules, ticketing policies, taxes, commissions, waivers, and applicable industry procedures.
- Proven experience in corporate travel and booking, including handling complex itineraries and time-sensitive travel requirements. Corporate travel experience will be considered a strong advantage.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate confidently and professionally with travel agents, suppliers, airlines, and internal stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate and resolve complex ticketing and GDS-related issues independently.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy, particularly when handling complex fares, ticket exchanges, refunds, and financial transactions.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a rapid-paced ticketing environment.
