About Us
At Hedron Robots, we are building commercial-grade robotic systems meant for real-world deployment not just lab experiments. We operate at a rapid pace, expect high ownership, and value engineers who love bridging the gap between simulation and physical hardware.
The Role
We are looking for a Robotics Engineering Intern who is ready to roll up their sleeves and contribute from day one. This is not a traditional classroom-style internship meant for learning the basics ; we are looking for someone who already has foundational competence in modern robotics stacks and wants to ship real features into commercial products. You will work closely with our cross-functional team of mechanical, electrical, and firmware engineers to bring complex robotic systems to life.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain ROS2 (Robot Operating System 2) packages, nodes, and communication pipelines.
- Build and maintain realistic simulation environments using Gazebo (or equivalent physics simulators) for algorithm validation and testing.
- Integrate, calibrate, and troubleshoot various hardware sensors (e.g., LiDARs, IMUs, Depth Cameras, and ultrasonic sensors).
- Collaborate actively with mechanical and electrical teams to resolve hardware-software integration challenges.
- Debug, profile, and optimize code running on Linux/Ubuntu environments under real-world constraints.
What We Are Looking For
- Education/Background: Currently pursuing or recently graduated with a degree in Robotics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science,
or a related field.
- Technical Stack:
- Strong proficiency in C++ and Python .
- Hands-on experience working with ROS2 (nodes, topics, services, lifecycle nodes).
- Demonstrated experience with Gazebo simulation and physics engines.
- Practical project or team experience with sensor integration and data calibration.
- The Mindset:
- An owner’s mentality: confident in your ability to research, debug, and contribute independently when faced with roadblocks.
- Excited about commercial-grade product development and the realities of hardware deployment.
- Willing and eager to work out of our office daily and collaborate seamlessly with a cross-functional team.
Growth Path
- We believe in investing in top talent. High-performing interns who demonstrate exceptional ownership, technical execution, and team alignment will have a clear path to a full-time role within the company.
Office Locations: Kharadi / PCMC (Pune) — In-Office Role (Mandatory) The Commute: We need someone with the hunger and resourcefulness to figure out logistics independently. Whether you live nearby or plan your travel across Pune (Kharadi/PCMC), we expect you to arrive at the office reliably and ready to build.
How to Apply
