ABOUT SYNCOPATED

Syncopated Marketing is an email and retention marketing agency working with ecommerce brands across the US, Canada, and Europe.

We manage email and SMS strategy, copywriting, design, automated flows, implementation, testing, and performance analysis.

We have worked with 70+ brands across supplements, wellness, beauty, apparel, fragrances, food, jewellery, outdoor products, and other ecommerce categories.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a smart, curious marketer who wants to build their career in retention marketing. You do not need previous email marketing experience.

You may currently work in copywriting, content, social media, paid advertising, brand marketing, ecommerce, or another marketing role.

What matters more is your ability to understand customers, come up with strong marketing ideas, write well, analyse results, and learn quickly.

There will be structured on-the-job training in email and SMS marketing, ecommerce retention strategy, Klaviyo, Omnisend, customer journeys, automation, testing, and performance analysis.

At Syncopated, retention marketers own both strategy and copywriting.

You will research the brand and its customers, decide what we should communicate, develop campaign ideas, write the complete email and SMS copy, work with designers, and analyse performance.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

- Understand each brand's products, customers, positioning, competitors, and voice
- Research customer motivations, objections, questions, and buying behaviour
- Plan email and SMS campaigns
- Plan automated customer journeys and flows
- Develop campaign concepts, hooks, messaging angles, and offers
- Write complete email and SMS copy
- Create briefs and creative direction for designers
- Review completed designs before campaigns go live
- Analyse campaign and automation performance
- Identify what should be improved or tested next




- Gradually take ownership of multiple client accounts

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

- 1 to 4 years of experience in marketing, copywriting, content, social media, paid advertising, branding, ecommerce, or a related field
- Excellent written English
- Strong writing ability and an interest in persuasive marketing
- Ability to understand customers and turn insights into marketing ideas
- Good understanding of hooks, offers, customer psychology, and brand communication
- Solid research and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable working with numbers and marketing performance data
- Attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Willingness to learn, accept feedback, and take ownership

Experience with ecommerce, Shopify, Klaviyo, Omnisend, Mailchimp, or similar platforms is helpful, but not required.

TRAINING & CAREER GROWTH

This is not a role where we expect you to know everything on day one.

You will receive structured on-the-job training across email, SMS, copywriting, customer journeys, automation, testing, and ecommerce retention strategy.

As you become more capable, you will start independently managing client accounts and their retention strategy.

There is also a clear path into leadership.

Strong performers can progress into leading a client pod and managing a small team.

This progression is based on performance rather than tenure. Someone who develops quickly could move into a leadership role within approximately 6 to 12 months.
