Role Description This is a full-time, in office Reporter role based in Uttarakhand, India. The Reporter will identify and research newsworthy stories, conduct interviews with sources, and gather information from field visits, events, and press briefings. Daily responsibilities include writing clear, accurate, and engaging news articles, preparing multimedia content where needed, and collaborating with editors and newsroom colleagues to refine stories.

The role involves verifying facts, maintaining ethical reporting standards, and meeting tight deadlines for publication across print and digital platforms. The Reporter will also monitor local developments, build a network of contacts, and contribute ideas for ongoing and special coverage.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong Reporting and News Writing skills, with the ability to produce accurate, balanced, and compelling stories.
- Candidates should possess excellent Writing and Communication skills,



including clear written expression and confident interpersonal communication.
- Candidates should possess basic Multimedia skills, such as capturing photos or videos and collaborating on digital storytelling.
- Candidates should possess strong research abilities, attention to detail, and a commitment to ethical journalism and fact-checking.
- Relevant qualifications such as a degree or diploma in Journalism, Mass Communication, Media Studies, or a related field are beneficial.
- Prior experience in a newsroom or media environment, familiarity with local issues in Uttarakhand, and proficiency in English and local languages are advantageous.
- Ability to work on-site, adapt to fast-paced news cycles, and maintain professionalism when engaging with diverse communities and stakeholders.
