Role

Quantity Surveyor

Functional Area: Projects

Location: Mumbai

Reporting: CFO

We are looking for a meticulous and commercially astute Quantity Surveyor to manage cost estimation, budgeting, and financial control across all construction, fit-out, and refurbishment projects.



The role will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, managing tenders and contracts, tracking project expenditure, and ensuring optimal value for money without compromising on quality or timelines.

The ideal candidate should have experience in commercial interior fit-outs, office projects, or real estate construction, with a strong understanding of cost management, contract administration, and procurement processes.

Responsibilities

- Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and BOQs (Bill of Quantities) for fit-out and construction projects.
- Conduct tendering, contractor/vendor evaluation, and bid analysis.
- Draft, review, and manage contracts, ensuring commercial terms protect company interests.
- Track project costs against budgets and flag variances proactively.
- Verify and certify contractor/vendor bills, RA (Running Account) bills, and final invoices.
- Conduct measurement and valuation of work executed on-site.
- Manage variations, change orders, and claims, ensuring accurate cost impact assessment.
- Coordinate with Project Managers, Design teams, Contractors, and Procurement to ensure cost-effective execution.
- Maintain cost reports, cash flow projections,



and financial documentation for each project.
- Conduct final account settlement and reconciliation at project closure.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance cost efficiency and commercial governance.

Skill Set

- Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or related discipline.
- 5–8 years of experience in quantity surveying for commercial interiors, office fit-outs, or construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of cost estimation, BOQ preparation, and contract management.
- Ability to interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings for measurement and costing.
- Good understanding of tendering processes, procurement practices, and commercial contract terms.
- Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel), AutoCAD, and cost estimation software.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.

Primary Responsibilities

- Ensure accurate and timely cost estimation across all projects.
- Minimize cost overruns through proactive budget tracking and variance analysis.
- Drive timely certification and processing of contractor/vendor bills.
- Maintain accurate cost documentation, reports, and final accounts.
- Improve contractor commercial performance through structured evaluation and negotiation.
- Support timely project closures with accurate financial reconciliation.
- Work closely with the CFO, Projects, Design, and Procurement teams to uphold commercial discipline and cost efficiency across all locations.
