Role Description

- Inspect incoming materials, machined components and assembled gearboxes.
- Read engineering drawings, tolerances and GD&T; requirements.
- Use vernier calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, height gauges and dial indicators.
- Check critical dimensions, runout, backlash and component fitment.
- Review and verify compliance with customer-approved Quality Assurance Plans (QAPs), drawings, specifications and acceptance criteria.
- Prepare and compile documents as per QAP, including dimensional inspection reports, material test certificates, heat-treatment reports, test records and final quality dossiers.
- Track QAP inspection stages, hold points and witness points; coordinate customer and third-party inspections and close observations.
- Conduct vendor visits and source inspections to verify component quality, process controls and corrective-action implementation.
- Manage vendor quality control, including incoming quality issues, rejection reports,



root-cause analysis and follow-up for corrective and preventive actions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (CFT)—Design, Purchase, Production, Assembly and Sales—to resolve quality issues and meet customer requirements.
- Maintain inspection records and monitor measuring-instrument calibration.
- Verify product quality and documentation completeness before dispatch.

Qualifications

- Strong Quality Control and Quality Assurance skills, with experience in inspection, testing, and compliance with standards.
- Proficiency in Quality Management practices, including documentation, process control, and continuous improvement.
- Effective Communication skills for working with cross-functional teams, documenting findings, and engaging with customers or suppliers.
- Knowledge of mechanical components or gearbox manufacturing processes is highly beneficial.
- Familiarity with relevant quality tools and methodologies
- Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Ability to work on-site in Surendranagar and collaborate in a production workplace.
- Experience in precision machining, gears or gearbox inspection preferred.
- Good understanding of fits, tolerances, GD&T; and measuring instruments.
- Working knowledge of QAP compliance, quality documentation and vendor inspection.
- Willingness to travel for vendor inspections.
- Ownership of quality issues through verified closure.
