Job Summary

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Purchase Executive to manage the procurement of raw materials for the animal feed and poultry industry. The ideal candidate should have experience in sourcing feed ingredients, vendor management, price negotiation, and procurement coordination. The role requires robust market awareness, supplier relationship management, and the ability to ensure timely material availability while maintaining quality and cost efficiency.

Role & responsibilities

- Source and procure animal feed raw materials from reliable suppliers and traders.
- Develop and maintain solid relationships with vendors, suppliers, and transport partners.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, quality standards, and delivery schedules.
- Obtain, evaluate, and compare quotations from multiple suppliers to ensure cost-effective procurement.
- Monitor market trends, commodity prices, and availability of feed raw materials.
- Generate purchase orders and ensure timely procurement as per business requirements.
- Coordinate with logistics and transporters for timely dispatch and delivery of materials.
- Verify material quality, quantity, and specifications upon receipt.
- Maintain accurate purchase records, vendor databases, contracts, and documentation.
- Coordinate with sales, operations,



and accounts teams regarding procurement planning and payment follow-ups.
- Follow up with suppliers on pending orders, delivery schedules, and issue resolution.
- Identify and onboard new suppliers to strengthen the vendor network and improve sourcing options.

Required Skills & Competencies

- Good knowledge of animal feed raw materials such as Soya DOC, Mustard DOC, Rice DDGS, Corn DDGS, DORB, Corn DOC, and other feed ingredients.
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Understanding of procurement processes, purchase documentation, and supplier evaluation.
- Ability to monitor market rates and make timely purchasing decisions.
- Good communication, coordination, and follow-up skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and basic ERP/Purchase Management systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, target-driven trading environment.

Preferred candidate profile

- Experience in commodity procurement and raw material trading.
- Strong network of suppliers and traders in the animal feed or agro industry.
- Ability to manage multiple suppliers and procurement activities simultaneously.
- Self-motivated, organized, and result-oriented professional.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Commerce, Agriculture, Business Administration, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- 25 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or sourcing roles.
- Experience in Animal Feed, Poultry, Agro Commodities, FMCG, or Raw Material Trading industries preferred.
