Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of key initiatives within the International Wealth Management (IWM) program. The successful candidate will combine strong programme/project management discipline with deep knowledge of investment products and the IWM operating model — coordinating business, technology, vendor, and control-function stakeholders to deliver complex change across multiple functions and locations.
Key Responsibilities
◼ Lead the end-to-end delivery of IWM program workstreams — developing detailed project plans, maintaining RAID logs, and managing scope, schedule, budget, and dependencies.
◼ Prioritize delivery based on business impact, regulatory requirements, and operational risk, ensuring alignment with the IWM target operating model.
◼ Coordinate across multiple teams — business, technology, vendors, and control functions — to drive execution and timely resolution of issues.
◼ Apply strong product knowledge to steer scope and design decisions across the investment product lifecycle (asset capture, order and lifecycle management, settlements, and client/regulatory reporting obligations).
◼ Establish and maintain project management standards, processes, and best practices to ensure efficient, consistent delivery.
◼ Proactively identify and manage risks and issues that may affect project health, escalating with clear mitigation strategies.
◼ Provide regular updates to IWM leadership, working groups, and steering committees on progress, delivery metrics, risks, dependencies, and mitigation status.
◼ Conduct post-implementation reviews to capture lessons learned and drive continuous improvement.
Skills, experience, qualifications and knowledge required:
◼ Previous experience working within Wealth Management (International/Private Banking preferred), Wholesale Banking, or Asset Management.
◼ Strong understanding of the International Wealth Management landscape, including client segments, advisory/discretionary models, and the front-to-back operating model.
◼ Strong knowledge of financial products (e.g., derivatives, structured products, funds) with hands-on exposure to the investment product lifecycle — from asset capture and order/lifecycle management through settlements and client/regulatory reporting.
◼ Exposure to Capital Markets, Managed Investments, and Private Assets product lifecycles.
◼ Proven experience managing transformation initiatives — creating project plans, maintaining RAID logs, and working across multiple functions in the firm.
◼ Strong experience engaging cross-functional domain SMEs, Business Management, and Control Functions (Legal, Risk, Compliance, Tax).
◼ Expertise in conceptual modelling — able to see the big picture, envision solution options, and provide concise, exact, managerial answers across a wide range of business topics.
◼ Ability to engage stakeholders at all levels of seniority and manage cross-functional projects
◼ Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex problems simply to drive quick, effective decisionmaking.
◼ Previous experience with Jira, Confluence, Power BI, or similar tools.
◼ Ability to work under limited supervision (a "self-starter") in unstructured environments
◼ Intellectual strength and flexibility to rapidly understand complex problems and rationalize them into deliverable solutions.
◼ High level of drive, commitment to outcomes, and ability to work under pressure
◼ Familiarity with different delivery methodologies (particularly Agile)
◼ Experience working with technology teams to deliver complex solutions across multiple business areas, functions, and locations.
Desirable
◼ Hands-on exposure to the Avaloq Core Platform
◼ Project Management Certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2)
◼ Familiarity articulating requirements in the form of Use Cases and User Stories
