Job Summary

The Project Head will lead planning, implementation, monitoring, and improvement of municipal solid waste management and sanitation services. The role involves strategic oversight of SWM operations, compliance with Swachh Bharat Mission guidelines, coordination with ULBs, capacity building, MIS management, and support in sanitation infrastructure planning to ensure sustainable, cost-effective, and high-quality municipal services.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan and monitor end-to-end SWM operations including door-to-door collection, segregation, transportation, processing, road sweeping, bulk waste management, and grievance redressal.
- Assess MSW quantity, composition, and future projections; review existing MSWM systems and recommend improvements.
- Develop strategies for 100% source segregation, decentralized waste processing,



and optimized transportation & transfer station planning.
- Support Swachh Bharat Mission, Swachh Survekshan, IEC campaigns, enforcement plans, and social media outreach.
- Prepare tenders, MIS reporting, performance indicators, service level benchmarks, and cost-reduction strategies.
- Provide technical inputs for sanitation infrastructure, city sanitation plans, faecal sludge & septage management, and wastewater treatment pilots.
- Assist in institutional strengthening, staff role definitions, training programs, tariff revisions, and financial sustainability of municipal services.

Regularly report progress, gaps, and action plans to the Municipal Commissioner.
