Position Summary The Specialist – MLE will play a key role in designing, implementing, and strengthening multilingual approaches for English learning in Grades 3–5. The position requires expertise in multilingual education, early language and literacy development, instructional design, teacher professional development, and field implementation support in government school systems.

The Specialist will work closely with central and state teams, external partners, and field teams to co-create pedagogical frameworks, develop teacher support materials, facilitate trainings, support implementation, and strengthen classroom practices through mentoring and review mechanisms.

Key Responsibilities

1. Programme Design and Pedagogical Development

- Support the development of evidence-based multilingual pedagogical frameworks for English learning in Grades 3–5.
- Design and review instructional materials including:
- Teacher guides
- Lesson plans
- Classroom activities
- Assessment tools
- Digital and audio-visual resources
- Contribute to the development of language learning progressions and multilingual instructional strategies.
- Curate research and evidence-based practices relevant to multilingual and early English education.

2. Teacher Professional Development and Capacity Building

- Design and facilitate training workshops for teams and teachers.
- Develop training modules, presentations, handouts, and practice tasks.
- Conduct mentoring sessions and online learning engagements with field teams.
- Support the effective use of pedagogical approaches, teaching-learning materials, and classroom resources.
- Build team capacity on multilingual pedagogy and English language teaching approaches.

3. Field Implementation and Academic Support

- Provide on-ground implementation support in demonstration sites.
- Conduct classroom observations and provide academic feedback.
- Develop and use classroom observation tools and review mechanisms.




- Support planning and facilitation of teacher professional development sessions and cluster meetings.
- Work closely with district and field teams to strengthen classroom practices and implementation quality.
- Contribute to establishing and documenting model classrooms and demonstration practices.

4. Monitoring, Documentation, and Review

- Document implementation learnings, case studies, and field insights.
- Support periodic programme reviews and reporting processes.
- Analyze classroom and implementation data to inform programme improvement.
- Prepare progress reports, training reports, and implementation updates.

5. Stakeholder Coordination

- Coordinate with government stakeholders, partner organizations, academic experts, and internal teams.
- Participate in programme planning, review meetings, and technical discussions.
- Ensure smooth communication and collaboration across teams and geographies.

Key Requirements The candidate should have:
- Master’s degree in Education, Linguistics, Language Education, English Education, Multilingual Education, or related fields.
- Minimum 5–8 years of relevant professional experience in multilingual education, language learning, or foundational literacy programmes.
- Demonstrated experience working with government school systems, preferably in rural and linguistically diverse contexts.
- Solid understanding of:
- Early language and literacy development
- Multilingual education approaches
- Language acquisition processes
- Foundational learning
- Experience working on English language learning programmes in Hindi-speaking contexts.
- Experience in developing instructional design resources and teacher support materials.
- Experience in designing and facilitating teacher professional development programmes.
- Strong academic writing, documentation, and communication skills in English and Hindi.

Travel Requirement Regular travel to programme locations, including Kurukshetra and Varanasi, for training, mentoring, classroom observations, and implementation support.

Pay: Up to ₹1,500,000.00 per year
