Role Description The Professor – Finance will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching in finance and related subjects to undergraduate and postgraduate learners, including the design and delivery of lectures, tutorials, seminars, and case-based sessions. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing curricula and course materials, supervising student projects and dissertations, evaluating student performance, and providing academic mentoring. The role involves active engagement in research, publication in reputed journals,



and participation in academic conferences to advance the field of finance and contribute to Amity’s research profile.

The professor will collaborate with colleagues, contribute to departmental initiatives, support accreditation and quality assurance processes, and build strong industry linkages for internships, placements, and joint projects. This is a full-time, on-site role located in the Greater Kolkata Area.

Qualifications

- Strong expertise in core Finance disciplines, including corporate finance and financial management.
- Solid foundation in Accounting principles and practices relevant to teaching and research.
- Advanced knowledge of Economics as it relates to financial markets, institutions, and policy.
- Demonstrated research capabilities in finance or related areas, with evidence of publications and scholarly work.
- Relevant doctoral degree (PhD or equivalent) in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a closely related field.
- Prior experience in teaching at the university level, preferably at reputed institutions, with strong pedagogical skills.
- Ability to integrate industry practices into curriculum, engage with corporate partners, and guide students on career pathways.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and academic writing skills, along with a commitment to student-centered learning.
- Capacity to work collaboratively within a diverse academic community and contribute to institutional development and accreditation processes.
- Experience in using educational technologies, learning management systems, and data-driven teaching methods is an advantage.
