Product Manager
About the Role:
We're looking for a hands-on Product Manager to own the roadmap and day-to-day execution across two products: our jobs platform and our ERP system.
This is not a strategist role that hands off execution to others you'll personally run triage, backlog prioritization, QA coordination, and sprint cadence.
You'll work closely with an AI-native engineering stack, so you need to be technical enough to have real conversations with engineers without needing to write code yourself.
What You'll Own
Roadmap & Backlog
- Own the product roadmap across both the jobs platform and ERP.
- Maintain a single, prioritized backlog that blends current features, bug fixes, and stability/tech-debt work no separate tracks.
Prioritization & Tradeoffs
- Run a real, defensible tradeoff process for competing requests customer escalations, founder asks, and support tickets all come through your queue.
- Be senior enough to push back constructively and hold a line on priorities when needed, even under pressure from stakeholders.
Specs & Delivery
- Write clear specs and acceptance criteria before engineering starts work.
- Run the sprint/delivery cadence directly with the engineering team (planning, standups, reviews, retros).
Quality & QA
- Own QA coordination end-to-end, working alongside the existing QA function.
- Build and maintain a regression checklist covering core flows across both products.
Metrics - Own and report on core metrics, including:
- Sales funnel: Prospect Opportunity Booked Customer Onboarding
- Defect trends
- LLM output consistency/quality
- Other product health indicators as needed
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience as a Product Manager owning roadmap, backlog, and delivery for at least one live product — ideally two or more,
or a complex single product with multiple user types.
- Demonstrated ability to write specs and acceptance criteria that engineers can build from without back-and-forth.
- Comfort running structured prioritization/tradeoff frameworks (e.g., RICE, weighted scoring, cost-of-delay) and explaining "no" decisions clearly to stakeholders.
- Experience owning or closely partnering on QA processes — regression testing, release checklists, bug triage.
- Technical fluency: able to read a system diagram, understand API/data constraints, and have credible technical conversations with engineers — without needing to code.
- Familiarity with AI/LLM-powered products and an understanding of what "output consistency" means for that context.
- Experience running agile/sprint cadences directly with engineering teams (not through a delegate).
- Strong written communication — specs, tradeoff docs, and stakeholder updates all land on your desk.
- A bias toward doing the work yourself (triage, QA, cadence) rather than delegating execution.
Nice to Have
- Experience with both marketplace/platform products (like a jobs platform) and internal/operational systems (like ERP).
- Background working directly with founders or in a small, fast-moving team where you wear multiple hats.
- Prior experience defining metrics/dashboards for sales funnels and product quality.
What Success Looks Like
- A single, healthy backlog that the team trusts — features, bugs, and stability work are weighed against each other transparently.
- Specs that reduce engineering back-and-forth and rework.
- A regression checklist that catches issues before customers do.
- A predictable sprint cadence that the engineering team can rely on.
- Clear, current visibility into the sales funnel, defect trends, and LLM output quality — with you able to explain what's driving changes in each.
