It is a startup Brand and a one stop shop with the journey from design iterations- final design- logs- woodworking - furniture making - final finishing and pack to despatch! Centrally located, in the heart of Mumbai, Rusteak’s studio-cum-workshop offers customers a live view of the entire teakwood product journey.

The studio also functions as an incubator for product testing and experimentation, encouraging innovation and craftsmanship. Rusteak also has an Experience store cum cafe in BKC , Bandra East where most Customer interactions happen .

Role Description The Product Designer role at Rusteak is an in office position based in Mumbai.

The Product

Designer will translate artistic concepts and user needs into functional teak wood products, from early sketches and prototypes through to final production-ready designs. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting user and market research, developing design concepts, creating detailed drawings and specifications, collaborating with craftspeople, and participating in product testing and refinement within the studio workshop. The role also involves using various online platforms for creating leads , website maintenance,



overhaul and upkeep . Significant part of the role would be Customer engagement and interaction to arrive at the best suited designs within the commercial framework defined.

Qualifications

- Fresh out of college.
- Strong Product Design skills with experience developing physical products from concept to production.
- Proficiency in Design Thinking and User Research to identify user needs and translate insights into design solutions.
- Experience in UX Research and Visual Design to create products that are both intuitive to use and visually appealing.
- Ability to work hands-on with prototypes and materials, ideally with exposure to furniture, woodworking, or industrial design.
- Knowledge of ergonomics, manufacturing processes, and technical drawing or CAD tools.
- Attention to detail, strong problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to iterate based on testing and feedback.
- Effective collaboration and communication skills for working with designers, engineers, craftspersons, and partners.
- Degree or formal training in Product Design, Industrial Design, Furniture Design, or a related field is preferred.
