Company Description Organic Mandya was founded by Madhu Chandan, who returned to his hometown Mandya in 2014 and set out to improve the livelihoods of farmers through organic agriculture. The organization works with farmers to promote natural farming methods, including organic fertilizers, crop rotation, mixed cropping, and biological pest control. Through regular free training sessions, thousands of farmers across India have learned organic practices, and more than 7,000 farmers are now part of the Mandya Organic Farmers Co-operative Society.

Mandya procures produce directly from these farmers and sells it through a chain of supermarkets in Bengaluru. The mission is to support sustainable livelihoods for farmers, offer genuinely organic food to consumers, and move Mandya and surrounding regions toward a chemical-free future.

Role Description

- The Procurement Manager – Staples will be responsible for managing end-to-end procurement of staple products such as grains, pulses, and other essential items from cooperative farmers and approved suppliers. The role will also oversee the procurement of raw materials, packaging materials, consumables, and other FMCG requirements, ensuring timely availability, quality, cost efficiency, and smooth supply operations.
- Review Purchase Requisitions (PR), obtain quotations, compare vendors, negotiate rates, and finalize suppliers.
- Prepare and release Purchase Orders (PO) as per approved requirements, pricing, and company policies.
- Track open POs and coordinate with vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials.




- Coordinate with Stores/Warehouse for material receipt and ensure timely GRN/MRN creation.
- Verify PO, GRN, and vendor invoices and ensure proper three-way matching before payment processing.
- Manage vendor relationships, negotiations, performance, quality issues, and timely resolution of discrepancies.
- Monitor inventory levels, MOQ, reorder levels, lead times, and ensure availability without excess stock.
- Track market prices, identify cost-saving opportunities, and maintain procurement MIS and reports.
- Coordinate with Finance, Warehouse, Stores, Production, Sales, and Operations to ensure smooth procurement and supply chain operations.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong Procurement skills, including experience managing purchasing processes for staples or FMCG/food categories.
- Candidates should possess Supplier Evaluation and Contract Negotiation skills to assess vendor performance and secure favorable, sustainable terms.
- Relevant bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, agriculture, or a related field; advanced qualifications in procurement or supply chain are an advantage.
- Experience in food retail, agri-supply chains, or organic products, with knowledge of quality standards and traceability practices.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities, with capacity to work closely with farmers and internal teams.
- Ability to work in office in Bengaluru, travel as required to sourcing locations, and uphold ethical, sustainable procurement practices.
