Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced Pressure Die Casting Tool Room Engineer to manage the maintenance, repair, modification, and development of pressure die casting dies and related tooling. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in die maintenance, troubleshooting, tool-room activities, and coordination with production teams.

Key Responsibilities

- Handle maintenance, repair, modification, and servicing of Pressure Die Casting Dies.
- Troubleshoot die-related issues such as flashing, porosity, cracks, dimensional variation, sticking, and premature die failure.
- Conduct preventive and breakdown maintenance of dies and tooling.
- Perform die polishing, fitting, grinding, welding, spotting, and bench work as required.
- Coordinate with Production and Quality teams to resolve die-related manufacturing issues.
- Monitor die condition and maintain tool history, maintenance records, and repair reports.
- Support new die development, die trials, die corrections, and modifications.
- Identify root causes of recurring die failures and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure proper die assembly, alignment, cooling line condition, slides, ejector systems, and inserts.
- Work closely with tool-room technicians, machinists, and external tool vendors.
- Ensure dies are available as per production requirements and minimize machine/tool downtime.
- Support die life improvement initiatives and maintain proper tooling standards.
- Interpret and work with 2D drawings, die drawings, and tooling specifications.
- Maintain proper inventory of critical die components, inserts, and consumables.




- Follow all company safety, quality, and housekeeping requirements.

Required Skills
- Strong hands-on experience in Pressure Die Casting Die Maintenance.
- Knowledge of HPDC dies, die components, inserts, slides, ejector systems, cooling systems, and die locking mechanisms.
- Experience in tool-room fitting and bench work.
- Knowledge of machining processes such as milling, grinding, EDM/WEDM, drilling, and CNC machining.
- Ability to identify and rectify die-related production problems.
- Knowledge of die modification and correction techniques.
- Valuable understanding of engineering drawings and measuring instruments.
- Knowledge of Vernier, micrometer, height gauge, and other precision measuring instruments.
- Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to coordinate effectively with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Tool Room teams.

Educational Qualification Diploma / BE / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Tool & Die Making, Production Engineering, or a related discipline.

Candidate Profile

- Experience: 5–12 Years
- Location: Padappai / Tambaram / Guduvanchery / Sriperumbudur / Oragadam and nearby areas preferred.
- Salary: Maximum 50,000 per month, depending on relevant experience and technical expertise.
- Candidates with robust hands-on die maintenance and tool-room experience will be preferred.
