PE & SPORTS TEACHER
Position: PE & Sports Teacher
Department: Physical Education & Sports
Reporting To: Sports Coordinator / Centre Head / Technical Director
Location: As assigned by the Management
Employment Type: Full time / Part-Time, as applicable
1. Job Purpose The PE & Sports Teacher will be responsible for planning and delivering structured Physical Education and sports sessions for students, developing their physical fitness and fundamental sports skills, promoting teamwork and discipline, and creating a safe, positive and engaging sporting environment.
2. Key Responsibilities
A. Physical Education & Sports Training
- Conduct structured PE and sports sessions according to the school's/academy’s curriculum and training plan.
- Teach fundamental movement skills, physical fitness, coordination, agility, balance and motor skills.
- Coach students in sports such as Football, Cricket, Basketball, Volleyball, Athletics, Skating and other sports as assigned.
- Plan age-appropriate activities based on students' age, ability and fitness levels.
- Develop students' sports skills through progressive drills, games and practical activities.
- Encourage participation, sportsmanship, teamwork, discipline and a positive attitude towards physical activity.
B. Session Planning & Execution
- Prepare lesson/session plans before conducting classes.
- Ensure sessions are properly structured with warm-up, skill development, activities/games and cool-down.
- Maintain appropriate student-to-coach ratios and ensure effective utilization of sports facilities and equipment.
- Modify activities according to students' abilities, fitness levels and specific requirements.
- Maintain punctuality and ensure sessions start and finish as per the scheduled timetable.
C. Student Management & Development
- Maintain discipline and professional conduct during PE and sports sessions.
- Observe and assess students' participation, performance and development.
- Identify students with strong sporting potential and recommend them for advanced training or competitive programs.
- Encourage students who require additional support and help improve their confidence and participation.
- Maintain attendance and relevant student performance records.
D. Safety & First Aid
- Ensure the safety of students before, during and after every session.
- Inspect the playing area and equipment before conducting activities.
- Follow all safety protocols and immediately report unsafe conditions, injuries or incidents.
- Provide basic first aid within the scope of training and immediately escalate serious injuries or medical emergencies to the concerned authority.
- Ensure students follow appropriate sportswear, footwear and safety requirements.
E. Events & Competitions
- Assist in organizing and conducting sports days, inter-school competitions, tournaments, camps and other sporting events.
- Prepare students for competitions and represent the organization/school professionally.
- Assist with team selection, fixtures, practice sessions and match-day responsibilities.
- Support event setup, equipment arrangements and post-event activities.
F. Equipment & Facility Management
- Ensure sports equipment is used properly and safely.
- Maintain basic records of sports equipment and report damaged, missing or required equipment.
- Ensure sports areas are clean, organized and ready before sessions.
- Avoid unnecessary damage or wastage of equipment and resources.
G. Parent & School Coordination
- Maintain professional communication with school/academy management and other staff members.
- Provide appropriate feedback regarding student participation and development when required.
- Participate in parent meetings, orientations and student progress discussions as assigned.
- Maintain professional conduct while interacting with students, parents, teachers and management.
H. Administrative Responsibilities
- Maintain daily attendance and session records.
- Submit required reports to the reporting manager within the specified timelines.
- Follow the organization's policies, SOPs, child-safety guidelines and code of conduct.
- Attend staff meetings, training programs and professional development sessions.
- Perform other sports-related duties assigned by management from time to time.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education (B.P.Ed.) preferred.
- Diploma/Certificate in Physical Education or relevant sports coaching qualification may be considered.
- Certification in a recognized sport or coaching discipline will be an advantage.
- Basic First Aid/CPR certification is preferred.
4. Experience
- 1–3 years of experience in Physical Education, sports coaching, school sports or academy-based training is preferred.
- Freshers with relevant qualifications and strong sports skills may also be considered.
5. Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of physical education and sports fundamentals.
- Good communication and student-management skills.
- Ability to conduct energetic and engaging sessions.

- Ability to work with children of different age groups and abilities.
- Good discipline, punctuality and professional attitude.
- Basic knowledge of sports safety and first aid.
- Ability to plan and execute sports activities independently.
- Passion for sports and child development.
6. Performance Indicators / KPIs Performance may be evaluated based on:
- Quality and effectiveness of PE/sports sessions.
- Student attendance and participation.
- Student skill and fitness development.
- Session planning and timely execution.
- Student safety and discipline management.
- Parent/school feedback.
- Participation and performance in competitions/events.
- Proper utilization and management of sports equipment.
- Timely submission of attendance and other reports.
- Professional conduct and adherence to organizational policies.
7. Working Conditions
- The role involves regular outdoor and indoor physical activity.
- The teacher may be required to work on weekdays, weekends or during special events/competitions as per the schedule.
- The employee may be required to work at different school/academy locations depending on organizational requirements.
8. Key Objective To develop physically active, disciplined, confident and skilled students through structured Physical Education and sports training while maintaining the highest standards of safety, professionalism and student development. Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
