COMPANY DESCRIPTION
We are a boutique overseas education consultancy based in Bengaluru, providing personalised, practical and independent guidance to students pursuing higher education abroad.
Led by an international education professional with 16+ years of industry experience, our approach is counselling-led rather than purely application-driven. We take the time to understand a student’s academic background, career objectives, financial circumstances and long-term plans before recommending suitable study options.
We support students across Australia, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany, Current Zealand, the UAE and Europe, with access to 600+ institutions across 10+ study destinations through our wider partner network.
Our services cover the complete student journey — from initial profile assessment and university selection through applications, admissions, visa preparation, enrolment and pre-departure support.
We are building a small, accountable and high-performing team where experienced consultants are expected to take ownership of their students rather than simply process applications.
EDUCATION CONSULTANT – BENGALURU | HYBRID
We are looking for an experienced Senior Education Consultant / Overseas Education Counsellor who can independently counsel students, convert qualified enquiries and manage cases from the first consultation through enrolment.
THIS POSITION IS FOR BENGALURU-BASED CANDIDATES. IT IS A HYBRID ROLE AND NOT A FULLY REMOTE POSITION.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Independently counsel students and parents on overseas study options based on academic profile, career objectives, finances and destination suitability.
- Assess student profiles and recommend appropriate countries, universities, courses and alternative pathways rather than simply providing generic university lists.
- Demonstrate strong working knowledge of at least two major study destinations, including admissions requirements, documentation, intakes, scholarships, financial requirements and student visa processes.
- Manage the complete student journey from enquiry to enrolment, including profile assessment, university shortlisting, applications, documentation, offers, acceptance requirements, financial preparation, visa coordination and pre-departure support.
- Take complete ownership of assigned leads and conduct timely, structured follow-ups with students and parents.
- Convert qualified enquiries into applications, offers, visas and enrolments while maintaining professional and ethical counselling standards.
- Understand the commercial side of overseas education and work towards agreed application, enrolment and conversion targets.
- Review application documents carefully and coordinate with processing teams to ensure applications are complete, accurate and submitted within deadlines.
- Assist students with SOPs/personal statements, CVs, supporting documents, scholarship applications and university-specific requirements.
- Explain offer conditions, deposits, financial requirements, visa documentation and subsequent steps clearly to students and parents.
- Maintain accurate records of enquiries, counselling discussions, follow-ups, applications and conversion status.
- Re-engage suitable existing and inactive leads where there is a genuine opportunity for conversion.
- Keep up to date with university requirements, intake deadlines, scholarships, visa regulations and major policy changes affecting international students.
- Participate in university events, student seminars, webinars, school/college outreach and other business-development activities when required.
- Support and mentor junior team members where appropriate.
The Education Consultant will be expected to:
- Proactively contact university representatives and international recruitment teams.
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with university representatives.
- Arrange university training sessions, counsellor briefings and student-facing interactions.
- Seek regular updates on programs, admissions requirements, scholarships, intakes and application opportunities.
- Identify potential university engagement and partnership opportunities for the business.
- Maintain consistent follow-up with relevant university and institutional contacts rather than waiting for representatives to approach us.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Previous hands-on experience in overseas education counselling or international student recruitment.
- Strong practical knowledge of at least two international study destinations.
- Ability to independently assess a student profile and recommend realistic study options.
- Demonstrable experience handling students through application, admission and visa stages.
- Strong spoken and written English communication skills.
- Confidence counselling both students and parents.
- Strong follow-up and conversion ability without resorting to aggressive or misleading sales practices.
- Good computer skills and ability to work comfortably with CRM systems, email, online university portals and digital documentation.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to take responsibility for individual performance rather than relying entirely on team-generated applications.
- A proactive, commercially aware and accountable approach to work.
