Role & responsibilities
Position Overview
We are seeking three engineers to design and implement application-level and process-level observability for Oracle Watchlist Screening. These engineers will build dashboards, alerts, notifications, and anomaly-detection capabilities that help Engineering determine whether critical screening processes and supporting integrations are operating normally.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor real-time and batch screening volumes, throughput, failures, retries, backlog, and latency.
- Identify failed or long-running screening activity and processing bottlenecks.
- Monitor Dow Jones file processing, data freshness, completeness, and ingestion failures.
- Track data processing through standardization, tokenization, clustering, business rules, and screening readiness.
- Monitor OWS integrations with SFDC, Pelican, Snowflake, and other prioritized applications.
- Monitor alert creation, status changes, aging, disposition, and closure.
- Create executive and operational health dashboards.
- Define SLIs, SLOs, baselines, thresholds, and severity levels with Engineering.
- Configure notifications for critical failures, processing delays, data issues, and integration failures.
- Document dashboards, metrics, alerts, system gaps, and operational processes.
- Complete production validation, knowledge transfer, and final handoff.
Required Qualifications
- Five or more years of software engineering, data engineering,
application monitoring, or observability experience.
- Oracle Watchlist Screening (OWS)
- Experience with Python, TypeScript, Java, or similar programming languages.
- Experience with databases, APIs, data pipelines, and system integrations.
- Solid analytical, troubleshooting, and technical documentation skills.
- Ability to overlap working hours with US Pacific stakeholders as required.
Preferred Technical Experience
- SFDC or Salesforce
- Snowflake
Application observability and data-pipeline monitoring
- Anomaly detection
- Dashboard and alert development
- Experience designing application and process monitoring solutions.
- Experience creating dashboards, metrics, alerting, and notification logic.
- Experience troubleshooting distributed applications and data integrations.
Expected Deliverables
- OWS observability inventory and telemetry-gap assessment.
- Executive and operational health dashboards.
- Monitoring for screening, data-processing, integration, and alert-lifecycle health.
- Operational alerts and notifications with severity and routing definitions.
- Production-ready code or configuration.
- Technical documentation, runbooks, and knowledge-transfer materials.
- A documented backlog of remaining observability gaps or enhancements.
Scope Note: AWS infrastructure monitoring, including server uptime, CPU, memory, disk, and network monitoring, is excluded.
