Role Summary

We are looking for an experienced Oracle GoldenGate Administrator to manage, monitor, and support enterprise-level database replication environments. The professional will be responsible for Oracle GoldenGate installation, configuration, administration, troubleshooting, performance optimization, patching, upgrades, and migration activities.

The role also requires strong knowledge of Oracle database administration, including Oracle Exadata, RAC, ASM, RMAN, Data Pump, database upgrades, patching, backup and recovery, and performance tuning. Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server Administration is required as a secondary competency.

Key Responsibilities

Oracle GoldenGate Administration

- Install, configure, administer, and maintain Oracle GoldenGate Classic Architecture and Microservices Architecture.

- Configure and manage

- Extract processes

- Data Pump processes
- Replicat and Parallel Replicat processes

- Trail files and checkpoints

- Manager and Distribution Services
- Implement and support real-time, high-volume, and heterogeneous data replication environments.
- Configure uni-directional, bi-directional, active-passive, and active-active replication, as applicable.
- Implement appropriate DML and DDL replication strategies.
- Monitor replication processes, lag, latency, throughput, and data divergence.
- Troubleshoot GoldenGate ABENDs, trail file issues, checkpoint failures, mapping errors, discard files, and replication latency.
- Perform performance tuning and optimization of GoldenGate replication pipelines.
- Analyse GoldenGate logs, reports, error files, and operational statistics to identify and resolve issues proactively.
- Plan and execute GoldenGate patching, upgrades, migrations, and architecture conversion activities.
- Support data consistency, reconciliation, validation, and correction activities.
- Perform initial load and synchronization activities for source and target databases.
- Work with application, infrastructure, network, and database teams to resolve replication-related incidents.
- Develop and maintain operational procedures, technical documentation, runbooks, and troubleshooting guides.

Oracle Database Administration
- Install, configure, administer, monitor, and troubleshoot Oracle Database environments.
- Provide technical and operational support for Oracle database servers across development, staging, testing, and production environments.
- Manage Oracle Database versions 12c, 19c, and later.
- Support Oracle Exadata, Real Application Clusters, and Automatic Storage Management environments.
- Perform Oracle database installation, upgrade, migration, cloning, and refresh activities.
- Perform patching of Oracle Grid Infrastructure and database software.
- Implement and maintain database backup, restore, and recovery processes.
- Work with Oracle native tools such as:

- RMAN

- Data Pump

- SQL*Loader

- SQL*Plus

- Automatic Workload Repository

- Automatic Database Diagnostic Monitor
- Monitor database availability, capacity, performance, and resource utilization.
- Perform database and SQL performance tuning.
- Analyse execution plans, wait events, blocking sessions, locking issues, and system bottlenecks.
- Estimate database capacity and develop methods for monitoring database growth, utilization, and future capacity requirements.
- Perform regular database maintenance activities, including:

- Table reorganization

- Index rebuilding and reorganization

- Statistics gathering

- Data archiving

- Space management
- Proactively identify, troubleshoot, and resolve production database issues.
- Participate in the creation of development, testing, staging, and production database instances.
- Support database migrations and data movement between environments.
- Work with Oracle Support to resolve business-critical and high-priority incidents.
- Develop automation scripts using UNIX/Linux shell scripting and PL/SQL.

Production Operations and Support
- Provide 24x7 production support as part of a rotational on-call model.
- Monitor GoldenGate and database environments to ensure availability, stability,



and performance.
- Respond to s, incidents, service requests, and production escalations within defined service-level agreements.
- Perform root cause analysis for recurring or critical production issues.
- Implement corrective and preventive actions to minimize future incidents.
- Participate in incident, problem, change, release, and service management processes.
- Prepare implementation, rollback, validation, and communication plans for production changes.
- Coordinate planned maintenance, disaster recovery, failover, switchover, upgrade, and migration activities.
- Ensure database and replication activities comply with organizational security and operational standards.

Required Technical Skills

Oracle GoldenGate

- Strong hands-on experience in Oracle GoldenGate administration.
- Experience with GoldenGate Classic Architecture and Microservices Architecture.
- Expertise in configuring and managing Extract, Data Pump, and Replicat processes.
- Strong troubleshooting knowledge of ABENDs, trail files, checkpoints, lag, latency, and data divergence.
- Experience in GoldenGate performance tuning, patching, upgrades, and migrations.
- Knowledge of DDL and DML replication.
- Experience in data validation, reconciliation, and synchronization.
- Understanding of GoldenGate security, credential management, encryption, and connectivity.

Oracle Database
- Minimum 4 years of experience with Oracle Database 12c, 19c, or later versions.
- Minimum 4 years of experience with Oracle Exadata, RAC, and ASM configuration and administration.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Oracle database upgrades and migrations.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Oracle Grid Infrastructure and database patching.
- Minimum 2 years of experience using Oracle tools such as RMAN, Data Pump, and SQL*Loader.
- Strong knowledge of Oracle backup, restore, recovery, performance tuning, and capacity management.
- Hands-on experience with PL/SQL and UNIX/Linux shell scripting.
- Experience in Oracle database maintenance, monitoring, troubleshooting, and automation.
- Strong understanding of Oracle database architecture, storage, memory, background processes, and high-availability configurations.
- Knowledge of database environments hosted on IaaS and PaaS cloud platforms.

Required Secondary Skill: SQL Server Administration
- Experience installing, configuring, administering, monitoring, and troubleshooting Microsoft SQL Server environments.
- Knowledge of SQL Server 2005 through SQL Server 2019 or 2022.
- Experience in SQL Server upgrade and migration services.
- Ability to upgrade and migrate SQL Server databases from older versions to current supported editions.
- Experience installing SQL Server service packs, cumulative updates, security updates, and hotfixes.

- Perform online index rebuilding and monitor scheduled index maintenance jobs.

- Relevant Oracle, GoldenGate, SQL Server, Azure, or AWS certification will be an advantage.
