Primary purpose of the role The Optical Executive supports the Optics Lead in the R&D; department. This role focuses on assisting with the design, development, and testing of optical systems and components, analyzing spectral data, and contributing to automation and prototyping efforts. The Optical Executive plays a key role in ensuring that optical systems meet project goals and contribute to ongoing innovation and product enhancement.

Major responsibilities

Assisting in Design and Development:

- Support the design and development of optical systems and components for various analytical instruments (Arc/Spark, OES, AAS, XRF, RAMAN).
- Collaborate with the Optics Lead to ensure designs meet project requirements and market needs.

Spectral Data Analysis:

- Utilize advanced algorithms, mathematical models, and image processing techniques for spectral data analysis.
- Assist in the implementation and optimization of tools such as MATLAB and Python to improve product performance.





Automation and Prototyping Support:

- Assist in developing and optimizing data pipelines for automation initiatives.
- Help create test setups and prototypes using 3D printing and open-source hardware.
- Support the use of Zeemax, AutoCAD, and embedded systems for prototyping and testing.

Collaboration and Innovation:

- Collaborate with research and engineering teams to achieve performance targets and adhere to project schedules.
- Contribute to the innovation and improvement of optical technologies by providing insights and support in various project phases.

Documentation and Reporting:

- Maintain accurate records of design specifications, test results, and project progress.
- Prepare reports and documentation to communicate findings and support decision-making processes.
