Job Title: Ophthalmologist
Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate, highly skilled, and driven Ophthalmologist to lead the clinical and surgical services of our Charitable Wing. The primary focus of this role is efficiently managing and performing a high volume of cataract surgeries using both Phacoemulsification (Phaco) and Small Incision Cataract Surgery (SICS) independently. Additionally, the ideal candidate must be competent in diagnosing and managing a wide spectrum of general eye issues.
This position is perfect for a medical skilled dedicated to restoring vision, delivering comprehensive eye care to underserved communities, and collaborating closely with senior doctors to enhance clinical and surgical skills.
Key Responsibilities
Core Surgical Capabilities
- High-Volume Cataract Surgeries: Perform a high daily volume of successful, independent Phaco and SICS procedures.
- Complication Management: Confidently handle intraoperative and postoperative cataract complications.
- Pre- & Post-Op Care: Oversee patient selection, surgical planning, and post-operative follow-up to ensure optimal visual outcomes.
General Eye Care Management
- General Eye Procedures: Execute minor and secondary procedures such as Pterygium excision with grafting, Glaucoma management (including Trabeculectomy), chalazion drainage, and ocular trauma management.
- Comprehensive OPD: Diagnose and manage a diverse range of general ophthalmic issues (refractive errors, dry eye, corneal infections, and uveitis) in a fast-paced, high-volume outpatient setting.
Administrative
- Quality & Safety:
Maintain strict standards of sterilization, infection control, and patient safety in both the OT and OPD.
- Team Leadership: Collaborate with and guide optometrists, ophthalmic assistants, and nursing staff to optimize high patient volume workflows.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Education: MBBS followed by a Master’s degree in Ophthalmology (MS, MD, DNB) from a recognized university.
- Experience: Proven experience working in high-volume eye hospitals or charitable centers, with the ability to handle large patient loads independently.
- Surgical Competence: A strong, documented logbook of successfully completed independent Phaco and SICS surgeries is mandatory.
- Skills: Strong clinical judgment, excellent manual dexterity, and the ability to operate diagnostic equipment (OCT, Fundus Camera, B-Scan).
- Attributes: A deeply empathetic individual with excellent communication skills and a strong commitment to public health and charitable care.

Work Schedule & Location
- Location: Arunodaya Deseret Eye Hospital, Sector 55, Gurgaon
- Working Hours: Monday to Saturday: 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, Sunday: 9:00 AM to 1:30 PM (On a rotational basis)
Pay: ₹54,013.33 - ₹125,000.00 per month
