OpenShift Platform PM

- Platform is already built; no zero-to-one product build is required.
- Key tasks include building out the product roadmap, defining success metrics such as availability, capacity, and latency, and managing technical debt intake.
- Internal customers are primarily other Product Managers and Engineering teams, rather than external consumers.
- Must understand deeply technical requests, including pod limits, networking constructs, and container platform concepts.
- A strong engineering/technical background is near-essential.
- No specific programming language is mandatory.




- OpenShift / Red Hat certifications are a bonus. Please flag such certifications if available.
- Significant: Candidates may mention OpenStack. OpenStack is an open-source cloud infrastructure platform. This requirement is specifically for OpenShift, the Red Hat product.

Key Responsibilities

- Own product strategy, roadmap, backlog, and prioritization for the OpenShift platform.
- Manage platform demand across XaaS teams, balancing feature requests, platform sustainability, capacity management, security, reliability, and technical debt.
- Identify and drive adoption of new platform capabilities.
- Work closely with the Platform Engineering, Architecture, Security, and XaaS Product teams to align priorities and outcomes.
- Define and track platform KPIs.
- Set and manage Platform SLAs, including SLOs and SLIs.

Experience

- Experience working in highly technical, engineering-led environments.
- Proven experience as a Product Manager for an internal platform or infrastructure product.
- Strong understanding of the OpenShift ecosystem and modern platform engineering practices.
- Experience managing competing stakeholder demands in a shared platform environment.
- Track record of translating complex technical problems into clear product priorities and outcomes.
- Experience with on-premise cloud environments.

Skills

- Strong Product Management discipline covering discovery, roadmap, stakeholder management, and backlog management.
- Credible technical depth with container platforms, cloud-native technologies, and developer platforms.
- Strong data-driven decision-making and prioritization skills.
- Excellent communication and ability to influence engineering and leadership stakeholders
