Job Purpose: Associate - O&M; (C) - Solar is responsible for ensuring the effective and efficient operation of facilities and equipment while maintaining the highest safety and compliance standards. This role is responsible for overseeing daily operations,
managing preventive and corrective maintenance activities, and ensuring adherence to safety regulations and operational excellence. The Associate drives performance improvement, optimizes costs, and ensures timely completion of all required tasks and projects.
By fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement, the Associate contributes to the overall operational success and organizational goals.
Responsibilities
Performance Monitoring & Analytics
- Monitor WTG Availability, Fleet Availability, Generation Performance, and Productivity KPIs against targets.
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly fleet performance analysis using SCADA and operational data.
- Identify generation losses due to turbine faults, deration, yaw misalignment, blade degradation, pitch issues, and operational inefficiencies.
- Monitor underperforming WTGs and recommend corrective actions.
- Develop performance dashboards, reports, and management MIS for fleet review.
- Benchmark fleet, turbine models, sites, and OEM performance.
Diagnostics & Failure Analysis
- Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for major failures and repetitive breakdowns.
- Analyze turbine alarms, fault logs, event histories, and SCADA trends.
- Review blade, gearbox, generator, pitch, yaw, converter, hydraulic, and main bearing performance data.
- Identify early warning signs of equipment deterioration and failure.
- Support closure and validation of OEM diagnostic findings.
- Develop diagnostic frameworks and standard methodologies for fleet-wide application.
Reliability & Condition Monitoring
- Monitor condition monitoring systems (CMS) and health indicators.
- Track equipment reliability KPIs including MTBF, MTTR, failure frequency, and recurring defects.
- Identify bad actors and reliability concerns across the fleet.
- Support predictive maintenance and condition-based maintenance initiatives.
- Maintain failure databases and reliability performance records.
Fleet Improvement Initiatives
- Drive generation enhancement and availability improvement programs.
- Identify and quantify performance loss opportunities.
- Support implementation of engineering modifications and retrofit recommendations.
- Track effectiveness of corrective actions and improvements implemented across the fleet.
- Facilitate knowledge sharing and replication of best practices across sites.
Technology & Data Analytics
- Drive implementation of advanced analytics and digital diagnostic tools.
- Develop automated dashboards and visualization tools using Power BI and analytics platforms.
- Support AI/ML based predictive maintenance initiatives.
- Ensure data quality, accuracy, and integrity across SCADA and monitoring systems.
- Evaluate current technologies and proof-of-concepts related to turbine diagnostics and performance improvement.
Audits & Governance
- Support fleet performance audits and technical assessments.
- Track closure of performance-related observations and action items.
- Maintain documentation of RCAs, diagnostic reports, and performance studies.
- Ensure adherence to internal performance monitoring and reporting standards
Qualifications
Education Qualification: B.E./B.Tech/Diploma - Electrical or Electronics or relevant to Energy Sector
MBA - Advantageous
Work Experience:
6-8 years of experience ( If Diploma holder: additional 2-3 Y Exp. req.)
