About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Backend Engineer specializing in Node.js and AWS to join our client’s dynamic team on a full-time, remote basis. This role is pivotal in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend services that support a high-traffic digital platform. As a senior member of the engineering team, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, frontend developers, and DevOps engineers, to deliver efficient, low-latency solutions that enhance user experience and system performance.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and the ability to work effectively in a remote, distributed environment.

Qualifications

- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in backend development using Node.js.
- Proficiency with AWS cloud services such as EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, and CloudFormation.
- Hands-on experience designing and implementing RESTful and GraphQL APIs.




- Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes or ECS.
- Strong understanding of relational and NoSQL databases including PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or DynamoDB.
- Experience with automated testing methodologies, including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a remote setting.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset to work effectively with distributed teams.

Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and deploy microservices based on Node.js utilizing AWS services to ensure scalability and high availability.
- Optimize backend systems for performance, reliability, and security to support high-traffic applications.
- Develop and maintain RESTful and GraphQL APIs, ensuring they are secure, efficient, and well-documented.
- Lead architectural decisions related to cloud infrastructure, including the setup and management of EC2 instances, Lambda functions, and RDS databases.
- Monitor system health, troubleshoot and debug issues promptly, and implement automated testing frameworks to ensure code quality.




- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Implement CI/CD pipelines for seamless deployment and continuous integration processes.
- Contribute to infrastructure automation using tools like Terraform and CloudFormation, ensuring infrastructure is version-controlled and reproducible.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and best practices in backend development and cloud computing.
