Key Responsibilities

- Monitor network devices, links, circuits, firewalls, and wireless infrastructure using approved monitoring tools.

- Identify and respond to alerts involving availability, performance, capacity, and resource utilization.

- Perform initial impact assessment and prioritize incidents based on business criticality.

- Monitor trends and provide information to support capacity planning and network-health reviews.

- Maintain accurate shift handover notes, incident updates, and operational records.

- Provide first-level troubleshooting for LAN, WAN, internet, routing, switching, firewall, and wireless issues.

- Troubleshoot connectivity and packet-flow problems using tools such as ping, traceroute, nslookup, interface checks, and device logs.

- Analyze basic network faults involving VLANs, access ports, trunk ports, routing, DHCP, DNS, and link failures.

- Escalate unresolved or complex incidents to L2/L3 engineering teams with complete troubleshooting details.

- Coordinate with service desk teams, telecom providers, vendors, and other infrastructure teams when required.

- Perform approved changes on Cisco switches and routers in accordance with change management procedures.

- Support basic configuration and troubleshooting of Cisco ASA/Firepower, FTD, and FMC environments under documented procedures.

- Assist with network-device installations, replacements, software upgrades, and maintenance activities.

- Support firewall, internet-edge, wireless, and network-infrastructure changes under the guidance of senior engineers.

- Follow security policies, access controls, rollback plans, and change-validation procedures.

- Create and maintain incident records, change records, troubleshooting guides, network diagrams, and standard operating procedures.

- Ensure ticket updates are accurate, timely, and sufficiently detailed for audit and escalation purposes.

- Follow company policies for information security, configuration management, and operational compliance.

Required Skills

- Cisco routers, switches, Wireless LAN Controllers and Access Points

- Cisco switching concepts and troubleshooting, including VLANs, trunking, access ports, and basic STP

- Basic Cisco router configuration and troubleshooting

- TCP/IP, IPv4, subnetting, DNS, DHCP, NAT, and routing fundamentals

- Network monitoring and alert management

- Incident, request, and change-ticket handling

Preferred

- Cisco Catalyst 2960/3750 or equivalent switching platforms

- Cisco ASA, Firepower Threat Defense (FTD), and Firepower Management Center (FMC)

- ServiceNow or a similar IT service-management platform

- SolarWinds or an equivalent network-monitoring platform

- Palo Alto, Fortinet, or other enterprise firewall technologies

- Exposure to enterprise internet-edge and geographically distributed networks

Certifications

- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) is highly preferred.

- CCNP, CompTIA Network+, JNCIA, or equivalent certifications are advantageous.

Working Conditions

- Work may be performed from the Noida or Hyderabad location.

- The role may include US time-zone support, rotational shifts, weekend maintenance, or occasional on-call responsibilities.

- The engineer may be required to coordinate with globally distributed teams and external service providers.
