Role Description: The Mold Designer will be responsible for designing and developing molds and mold elements for Metal Injection Molding (MIM) applications at our Visakhapatnam facility. The role involves hands-on mold design using Creo , converting 2D part drawings with GD&T; into detailed mold and element designs, and ensuring designs meet functional, manufacturability, and quality requirements.

The Mold Designer will work on 2-plate, 3-plate, and floating molds , including MIM components, and collaborate closely with Design, Production, NPD, Quality, and Tool Room teams to support mold development and trials.

Key responsibilities include understanding part profiles and materials, applying appropriate extraction techniques,



selecting suitable mold element materials and fasteners, preparing detailed drawings, and supporting design-related troubleshooting and improvements during mold development and production.

Qualifications

- Diploma in Tool & Die Making (GT&TC; / NTTF) is mandatory; a relevant additional qualification/certification in mold design will be an added advantage.
- 3–4 years of hands-on experience in Mold Design , preferably in Metal Injection Molding (MIM) or Plastic Injection Molding .
- Strong hands-on proficiency in Creo for 3D mold and mold-element design.
- Ability to understand 2D part drawings, GD&T;, part profiles, and material requirements and convert them into detailed mold designs.
- Good knowledge of 2-plate, 3-plate, and floating mold concepts and their applications.
- Sound understanding of mold design fundamentals, extraction techniques, mold elements, materials, and fasteners .
- Ability to select appropriate mold elements and materials based on application and performance requirements.
- Good problem-solving skills with the ability to support mold trials, identify design-related issues, and implement improvements .
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams in a manufacturing environment.
