Coordinate with suppliers, buyers, sales teams, and store personnel.

Monitor competitors, market trends, pricing, and customer preferences.

Help prevent overstocking and stock shortages.

Ensure pricing, product information, and promotional materials are accurate.

Common Requirements: Robust communication and negotiation skills, good numerical and analytical ability, attention to detail, knowledge of inventory and sales processes, proficiency in Excel or merchandising/ERP systems, and the ability to work effectively with suppliers and internal teams.

In fashion/apparel, a merchandiser may also work closely with designers and factories on costing, sampling, production schedules, order quantities, and delivery timelines.
