Merchandise Planner – Fashion

Role Overview
We are looking for a Merchandise Planner who can translate market trends, customer demand, competitive assortment, and historical sales performance into a commercially strong product and inventory plan.
The role will have strong ownership of assortment decisions, product depth, category performance, and inventory productivity—helping determine what products to introduce, where to increase depth, what to reduce, and how the assortment should evolve over time.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain category-level and seasonal assortment plans.
- Analyze historical sales, style-level performance, and customer demand.
- Identify fashion trends and emerging product opportunities.
- Track competitor assortment, pricing, and product trends.
- Identify assortment gaps and white-space opportunities.
- Recommend new styles, categories, and product opportunities.
- Recommend styles/categories to reduce, replace, or discontinue based on performance.
- Develop attribute-level assortment mixes across categories.
- Partner with Buying & Sourcing teams to translate assortment recommendations into products.
- Partner with Inventory Planning to determine the right product depth and stock levels.
- Monitor Sell-Through, ROS, Stock Cover, Inventory Ageing, and Stock Productivity.
- Identify underperforming products and recommend corrective actions.
- Evaluate new product launches and incorporate learnings into future assortment plans.
- Build and manage monthly, seasonal, and category-wise assortment plans.
- Continuously optimize the assortment based on sales performance, customer behavior, and market trends.

What We're Looking For
- 2–3 years of experience in Merchandise Planning, Fashion Merchandising, Buying, or Category Planning.
- Strong understanding of fashion products, consumer trends, and assortment planning.
- Robust analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales and product-level data.
- Ability to make data-driven assortment and inventory recommendations.
- Strong understanding of sell-through, ROS, stock cover, ageing, and inventory productivity.
- Good understanding of fashion categories, product attributes, and market trends.
- Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
- Advanced Excel / Google Sheets skills; experience with merchandising/planning tools is a plus.
- Ideal Candidate
Someone who doesn't just report what sold, but can understand why it sold, what should be sold next, how much should be bought, and what should be discontinued. The ideal candidate will bring a combination of commercial thinking, fashion sense, analytical ability, and strong ownership.
